Baby position

How do you know what position your baby is in if you have not gotten any other ultrasounds since a/s at 20 weeks. I am a FTM 31 weeks and I have been trying to feel to see if I can tell but seems to me he is still sideways??

My doctor felt my stomach at my last appt which was 33w and what I thought was the head up between my rib cage is the baby's butt! He was able to tell by feeling (the butt is more irregularly shaped than the head) and bc the heart beat was down below my belly button where the chest would be.

I think you probably ask the doctor, they are more accustomed to telling what's what. Although, I asked mine at 30 weeks and she couldn't tell. My LO is head down and I am feeling her in all four extreme quadrants of my belly right now so it would be hard to know if I hadn't had an ultrasound.

I asked my doc and he couldn't tell by feeling so we did a quickie ultrasound and found that baby was head down.

We always find his heartbeat really low in my belly so it made sense that he was head down.

I tried to figure this out by feeling my belly but I think the reason why I was a little off was I assumed baby was smaller than he really is! My ob tried to tell by feeling and said she couldn't yet (that was at 30weeks) but during an ultrasound yesterday they said he was head down and on his side. Maybe some doctors are just better at feeling around?

My doctor was able to tell by feeling my belly. They did it without me asking when I was like.. 30-31 weeks. My Chiropractor said that if you kind of 'grab' what you think is the baby's head and jiggle a little the baby will shake its head side to side if it is its head. If it is it's bum it will just squirm. I don't know how accurate this is and I haven't been able to do it but you could try and maybe it'll work for you!

I knew LO was head down because I felt super low hiccups and had feet up in my ribs. An ultrasound at 28 weeks confirmed it.  He stayed that way from 22 to 30 weeks at which it felt like he majorly moved.  I asked the ob at my 32 week appt since it felt like he was folded in half across my midsection.  She felt around and confirmed I was right.  It helped that he was majorly pressing against the front and you could basically draw out his outline on my tummy.

I sure hope he moves back!  She told me not to worry til 36 weeks.  She also said her DD had been head down and flipped at 37 weeks.  That would suck!

"Luckily" I have an ultrasound at 36 weeks so I can find out for sure the position at that time. Though it won't make a difference if the darn placenta doesn't move out of the way.

At my last appt. the dr felt to determine position and showed me how to feel and you can definitely tell the head is down just by feeling in my lower abdomen. Plus I can feel little feet around my rib cage.  :)

My midwife says the head feels like an apple (round, firmer) and the bum feels like a peach (round, softer).  She found these to my left (head down) which makes sense because the little motions (hands, feet) are to my right.  She reminded me not to slouch so as to help gravity encourage my babe to rotate.

The pressure that i get down there or how often i have to pee.

If i am having a lot of pressure and peeing when i walk, they are head down.

Is this actually true because that means my child is not only head down she is trying to get her head out.

    Its different for everyone.

Im only 26 weeks along. But at one of my ultrasounds they were head down and i had called in to my obs office because of having pressure and etc, and they said it was normal. The next day i stopped having pressure. My last u/s they were breeched and i had no pressure. By that night i could barely walk without having to automatically pee, and the sharp pains/pressure.

But i also have two baking.

But again its differen for everyone. If you are concerned id talk to your ob.
