oh no! The full moon in Nov is the 28th - 3 days after my due date, and on Thanksgiving Day! Here's hoping I go before my due date, I don't want to be stuck in the hospital with an over-crowded L&D (some women at work were *just* talking about this with me, one of them said she went into labor on a full moon at the same hospital I'm going to, and they had people lining up the hallways because the delivery rooms AND triage were packed).
Not sure where you are getting the 28th. Google is telling me that the full moon is November 17th (also October 18th and December 17th for those on the fringes).
I'm due on the 11th, so I hope he doesn't decide to hold on until the 17th!

I don't think births really correlate to full moons. However after doing acupuncture and TCM to try to regulate my cycles, I did find that I was always ovulating on the new moon and starting my period on the full moon. I still had to do IVF, but I though that was interesting.
I went into labor with ds on a full Moon night and had him the next mOrning. There were a total of 27 births that night! All the rooms were full and had to turn people away to another local hospital
I'm with ya there, due date of November 20th, so hopefully I don't have to deal with the full moon madhouse 3 days earlier. That made me nervous on my hospital tour that it does happen they fill up and have to use triage and gurneys. Luckily the full moon is a Sunday, so there wont be any scheduled inductions and c sections at that time.
Most statistics say that hospitals are busier on full moon cycles. And there are more births, something about everything being tied together. Doesn't mean all births happen during that time but if you are due around that time the likelihood of it happening is pretty good. Somehow babies are drawn to those cycles too!
Due the 18th here. Hmmmm... I was thinking of starting acupuncture a week before EDD to hopefully get things rolling, might be useless if there's anything to the moon business.
I was over due when the full moon hit with DS and thought for sure I would be in labor. Nope. I doubt my doctor will let me make it until November's full moon this time.
My moon phase app had the full moon tomorrow, Oct 20 and Nov 18.
@carrieb before artificial light, women ovulated on the full moon and bled on the new moon. You can even use light therapy to manipulate your cycles (not that this has anything to do with having to use ivf, just more interesting stuff) do that you are in sync with a moon cycle.
So basically my cycle is backwards. No wonder I'm infertile... Weird side note, even after doing a BCP cycle and stimming, I managed to end up having my egg retrieval (which would be considered ovulation) on the date of the new moon. I guess that's just the way my body rolls.
DD was born 2 days after a super moon. The nurses kept talking about how packed the post partum side was from all the moms that gave birth on a full moon.
I'm due the 15th and my MW and I have already talked about the possibility of delivering on the full moon or at least around it.
Today at work, my L&D triage is already full of ladies that are here to be checked for SROM, we have 3 delivery beds available and we are about to fill 2 of those. We will then have to go on divert since we have to keep a bed open "just in case" and it is only 11 am! It will be a crazy crazy day today with the full moon, but then again it always is. The nurses here do self scheduling, and you better believe they pay attention to the moon phases when making their schedules!
Tonight is a full moon. We should check in on the Sept. board today and see if there is more activity. :P
I just looked up my last pregnancy. It looks like I went into the hospital for cervix softening (induction) the night of the full moon. Fancy that. The hospital didn't seem too busy and no nurses or doctors said anything about the full moon.
This time around I'm due 3 days after the full moon. There are so many different factors that play into when we go into labor, I'm not sure how much full moons plays into, but it's interesting!
I'm set for induction on the full moon and am hoping that silly moon helps make it a fast and smooth birth! I am praying its a good thing. But it could also mean I have a little howler! Maybe my baby wants to howl at the moon, cause I'm not hanging out in the driveway howling. Lol! That totally cracked me up!
Well I said this on another post the other day, referring to full moons, that I must be doomed to deliver in the hallway at my hospital because I'm due on Nov. 17! I get the feeling that little girl will be here either late or early, so we'll see what happens.

I had my son on a full moon night in 2011. There were 16 births in our hospital that day as opposed to 2 the day before
I'm due on the 22nd with this LO and am sort of hoping for another full moon baby!

Lol tell that to a Labor nurse.... there may not be scientific evidence, but it is just one of those things that people believe in.
