Graham's first day of daycare was today. He did pretty well overall, but when I picked him up they said he didn't nap. He usually naps twice a day for a combined total of 2.5-3 hours. His teacher told me that there is a law that says after they turn one, they must sleep on a cot rather than in a crib. Graham usually walks around in his crib and plays until he goes to sleep. He has to be confined or he won't settle down and sleep.
It just seems strange to me. Do your LOs still sleep in a crib at nap time in daycare, or do I just have a SS?
Re: Daycare moms- where does LO sleep?
What just happened in my diaper?!
Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.
When he moved to the next room he moved to sleeping on a mat. I had low expectations, but he ended up sleeping better on the mat then he did in his pack n play. There were only 3 kids in his class, though, and when the 4th kid came back the teacher moved them all back into their pack n plays because she couldn't manage to wrangle 4 kids and keep them contained to their mats for them to fall asleep.
I would give him a week or so to adjust.
