I'm unfit to babysit, y'all

I'm FB friends with the mom of a little girl who goes to preschool with my older son.  They are best buddies.  She has another daughter who is one.  She posted on FB asking if anyone was available to watch her girls for a few hours on Saturday morning.  I knew it would be a little crazy but DH will be home (and I checked with him first) and the two older kids wouldn't be much trouble (her daughter is sweet and really well behaved).  I responded that I'd be happy to have them come over. She responded "I think you've lost your mind! lol"  I said that maybe I had but DH would be home so that's only two kids each  She said "Ok....I'll let you know."  WTF? lol  I guess I'm not good enough to babysit :-p

You said that you are FB friends, have you both met yet?  Maybe she doesn't feel like she knows you well enough or that since your kids are friends she doesn't want to take advantage?

She has two children. You have two children. Maybe in HER mind, she would be overwhelmed trying to watch 4 kids even with help.
I have friends with 2 who think 3 is hard. Me? I have 3 and can easily babysit an extra 5

I'm not truly upset about it  There are a bunch of reasons for her answer and she probably responded quickly since she's at work.  It was just a little odd to see that, as a (I think successful) parent of two kids, someone wouldn't take me up on an offer to babysit their kids after they said they needed help lol

Oh yeah, we've met.  We went to her daughter's birthday party and we chat for quite a while almost every day at daycare and IM back and forth on practically a daily basis.

It might not be personal @elmoali.  She might need to arrange to get the kids to your house or something.  Or she might have more than one offer.  

Don't make it about your parenting skillz until you know for sure that's what she meant.

If I were the friend, the last thing I'd want to do is throw my kids on someone who already(in my mind) have their hands full.
