Paying it Forward

So when I first started my breast feeding journey I had a lot of people donate breast milk to me to help me feed Hannah. I finally managed to pump enough for her, and get her exclusively breast feeding. Well seeing as I'm at home until January and she is eating solids now. We aren't using up my stash as much as I thought I would. So today I offered 40oz of frozen breast milk on Human Milk 4 Human babies. I know it's not much, but I like paying it forward. It also kinda makes me want to take up pumping again to help out people some more.

Robeano that is so awesome of you!  I was never able to pump enough to have extra, but that is so awesome that you did.  You should be very proud of yourself!

Robeano, that is so wonderful of you to do this.  I must admit that I'm pretty selfish.  I SAH so I don't really need a freezer stash, plus M wouldn't take a bottle anyway.  In the end, I just use the frozen BM to cook oatmeal for M.  I don't have enough frozen stash to donate.

That's so awesome! I never had enough supply to EBF the boys, but I think it is an amazing thing when an abundance of BM can go to another family. Way to go!!

As someone who desperately wanted to BF but couldn't, I think it's great to donate it. I know whoever is lucky enough to get it will really appreciate it!

I gave an ex boyfriend (strange, I know) all my leftover breast milk after LO could not drink it do to a milk allergy. His wife had breast cancer and had a double mastectomy and they had a newborn.

It does feel great to help. Our friends had an 11 pound baby girl by c section 10 days ago and her milk took a long time to come in. The baby lost 2 pounds and their pediatrician wanted her to give formula at that point. I helped get her pumping and nursing better and showed her how to supplement with a soft feeder. I gave them some BM so they didn't have to give formula. Mom and baby are doing great now! It's such a warm fuzzy feeling for me
