What should I pack in my diaper bag?

What should I pack in my diaper bag, other then a gun of course?

I haven't carried a diaper bag in a long time. But I am going to need to bring one to the parks at disney. What should i pack? I kjow I am the type to forget something obvious and important for a happy day at the park. Please help. :)

- diapers & wipes
-change of clothe
-swim suit and swim diaper (I read there are splash pads???)
-sun shade thingy for stroller in hopes of a nap
-baby carrier
-snacks and lots of water (I can bring this into disney right?)

What else?

  • Extra sunscreen for sure, even if you apply it in the morning. Disney does allow snacks and water.  We took reusable water bottles instead of bottled water.  We filled them with ice in the morning and then at lunch we asked for a cup or ice or ice water that we used to refill the water bottles (all counter service spots will give you one free of charge).

One of the best tips I read was to buy ponchos before going and keep them in your bag.  I bought 4 ponchos at .94 a piece before we left and they all got used.  Every time I have been to Florida it has rained and those are way cheaper than ponchos in the park but lighter than a full out raincoat.

  • How about hand sanitizer?  Johnson & Johnson do these anti-bacterial wipes made for the face and hands.  I love them & they feel much better than traditional hand sanitizer.  When I'm out and about in a place where there are tons of people my hands always feel dirty & a sink isn't always around,  My friend is a Disney pro & when her LO was small she packed Dum Dum lollypops to bribe her DD to say happy while standing in line.

  • Don't forget your camera!

Maybe a hat, a couple band aids, and some tylenol. I get blisters really easily so I always bring bandaids with me. Oh, and I usually bring Tums when I travel.
  • I second using a backpack instead of diaper bag, it is so much easier. I got a small one from the purse section at Target and it worked wonderfully. I only packed the essentials and it was enough.

    Diapers and wipes
    Hand sanitizer and sanitizer wipes
Sunscreen - I got a couple of the travel size ones from Target to save space
    change of clothes
    snacks for DS
    ponchos
    hat for DS

water bottles - I didn't pack these in the back pack though, just froze them the night before and threw them in a plastic bag and put them in the bottom of the stroller

  • I would take a couple large zip lock bags for any wet/soiled stuff.
