So I think we figured it all out tonight!! I'm so happy I was getting stressed:
Danny age 9; ninja making it from black clothes red fabric, black scull cap only need a sword and to make throwing stars.

Nathan who will be 3; Thomas the tank engine I got it on clearance last year for $5

Lucas my may lo; a scarecrow I'll make it from overalls, flannel shirt, I'll add patches and yellow "straw" only need a straw hat

Me; I'm not sure yet I normally do something simple like a cat or cow girl

So what are your kids being?

I bought a cupcake costume at a garage sale but it is too big so that will be next year. My mom just gave me a ladybug costume she got at a second hand shop. I just have to put a black shirt and pants underneath.

Russell from the movie Up.   I'm almost done with the costume, I just have to make a pennant and some other junk to hang on his backpack.  I'm hoping he does not grow out of his brown shoes by then!  I embellished a shirt, baseball cap, made a sash with badges and a small backpack out of an old yellow t-shirt of DH's.  I think it will be quite good if he will wear it...he seems ok with all of the individual pieces but it should be interesting to see when it's all done and together.  I am thanking my lucky stars he seems to like wearing hats now!

There's also halloween costume days at sea world so we may go dressed as either Russell or I might put him in his superman t-shirt and wear the new wonder woman t-shirt I just ordered myself :-D

Zoeygirl1105, I may get balloons if I'm allowed to bring them to sea world and if I have time on Halloween, things always seem to get so hectic the day of and I can't really buy them a day early....although I suppose I could forgo the helium and just attach a few regular balloons :-)
I wish we lived closer to Disneyland so we could trick or treat up there, but my dog and cat are old and I can't leave them all day, maybe in a couple of years when lo is older, I bought a larger shirt because I hope he can wear this costume again, should we get to go up there :-)

Zoeygirl I'm doing similar ones to what I pinned yes and keep trying the cow it normally takes my kids about ten tries with any coustume to wear it even my 3 year old we started last night.

Wonder Woman!

LOL we bought her these super cute boots that will work great from old navy!  we don't usually dress up as no one has big shindigs.  boooo.

I can't wait to see pics of this! I must confess I bought ww boots for myself from zulily because they were on super sale. This is what led to my buying a ww t shirt for myself as well :-)

Oh and for an excuse to dress up lo, last year and this year we invited everyone to a costume play date, I just say to bring costumes for a pic, I serve some Halloween themed things like candy and treats, and i get an extra costume wearing. This year I said adults could come in costume if they dare :-)
If you have other baby friends this is a good excuse to get together....plus Halloween is my and dh's favorite holiday so we celebrate with add many folks as we can!

Maybe a doctor.
Back story: when I was little I had a mickey mouse doctor kit and my grandfather would put on the spectacles and made up the character Dr. Scnookleheimer. I took the pseudonym for my blog. I will make her a name badge with "Dr. Schnookleheimer III" She loves wearing her little stethoscope.

DH's idea:  a farmer with overalls and a straw hat (we love to garden). Probably with a "No GMOs" tag on her tushy
