We live in Brooklyn in a brownstone and have radiator heat, unfortunatley there is only a thermostat in our neighbors in the first floor apt. Oh the joys of living in a really old building. It's pretty chilly tonight and DS nursery is already 69 and dropping. We asked our neighbors who we are fortunately very friendly with, to turn the temp up so the heat will come on but it's still really hard to maintain an even temperature in our apartment since there's a big difference between the temp on our floor and their floor. They also said our landlord comes and periodically checks it to make sure it's set at 70. (he's beyond cheap) I knew this would be an issue, just didn't anticipate it happening so early. DH and I are kind of at a loss about how we're going to address this issue all winter long, beyond the idea of moving which timing wise is just not a good idea right now and 90% of the places in brooklyn are old buildings anyway. DS is in a sleep suit and I'm going to stick some socks on him but I'm still worried about him being too cold. Anyone else in a similar situation or in an old drafty house and if so how are you dealing with it?
