Re: ~*~PGAL Check-In~*~

  • I'll start! I will also apologize in advance if I don't get to personally respond to everyone today. Got a lot on my mind, but know that I'm thinking of all of you! ((Hugs))

Gestation in fruits/weeks: 7 weeks 3 days, and a blueberry!

Symptoms: Constantly queasy but no m/s. (That is until this morning, because of course my PGAL brain would turn off the symptoms the day I'm supposed to have my ultrasound) Tired beyond belief.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: First u/s is today. I'm trying to keep myself occupied, but I'm scared beyond belief. If we get to see a heartbeat today, I'll pass another milestone. I have a f/u with my OB in Thursday morning.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? Eh. I've actually been able to stay pretty positive until today. It broke my heart seeing so many "goodbye" posts on the board yesterday, and I can't shake the feeling that I could be one of them.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I recently did a career overhaul. I spent 10 years in retail management. I finally burnt out and quit without another job lined up. Very uncharacteristic of me. I now work as an office coordinator in a multi-disciplined medical office, and I LOVE it. Especially having weekends and holidays off!

  • Pregnancy Loss: I know lots of women have lost far more than I, and my heart hurts for you and I pray for us all. I experienced my first loss in May 2013 at 10w5d. I had two successful appointments at 6w and 9w. I went in for my 2nd trimester check up and they found baby with no hb and no progression pass 10w5d.

    Current EDD: May 7th
    Gestation: 6w6d

Symptoms: I have had ms since the beginning of last week, a lot of nausea, exhaustion, and recently I have had sore boobs.

Upcoming appts/milestones/etc: I have an appointment next Wednesday, I will be 8 weeks. I pray I can make it one step closer toward 2nd trimester.

PGaL brain: I have been a lot less stressed and more positive this time because I promised DH I would stay away from google. I lived on google last time and really stressed myself. I was also so sad seeing all of the goodbye posts, I know I remember writing mine last time.

I am currently a private home nurse for a company based out of stockton ca. I love my job. I also go to school F/t at night, I am working on my bachelors and plan to work on my CNP after that.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: 2nd Ultrasound 9/25 and I hope to see a nice heart beat. I went at 5wks 5days and only saw a yolk sac.
How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I feel ok since I past one of my mile stones when I saw the yolk sac this time around at 5w5d.
GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I am a program manager for a reseach facility.

Pregnancy loss background: one pregnancy/one loss. Heard heartbeat at 8w5 days and then found out we had a mmc at nt scan at 11w5 days. EDD was 5/15/13

    EDD: 5/19

Gestation in fruits/weeks: 5w/1day - apple seed maybe?

Symptoms: nasea at times, no full on puking yet! I get hit with hunger out of nowhere and have to eat or else (had to stop writing this post for snack! also having a hard time sleeping thru the night after I get up 1am to go to the bathroom.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?: I'm very nervous as we are traveling out of the country on vacation on 10/26 (day of my last loss) so I'm really nervous about everything. On the otherhand this pregnancy feels different and I feel better about it. DH is also more ready this time around.  We don't talk about this pregnancy much as we're trying to keep our expectations in check until we're in the clear (as in the clear as you can be)

  • Pregnancy loss background: DH and I started TTC in Feb, to my surprise got pg on the first try! I had a great u/s at 8 weeks and saw baby's hb at 155. Everything was going great and I went in for my 12 week u/s. When the u/s tech pulled up the screen I knew what she was about to say. There was no h/b and LO hadn't grown any since my 8 week appt. Went in for D&C the next day. A week later my blood results came in from the Harmony test that I had done at 10 weeks and revealed that LO had Trisomy 13. Very emotional and heartbreaking as you all know, but am SO happy to be pg again :-) EDD: May 10, 2014 Gestation in fruits/weeks: 6 weeks, sweet pea! Symptoms: Sore boobs, tired, have to pee all the time, bloated, face is breaking out, little waves of nausea.. And now I have a cold on top of all that! Blah. Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: Finished with all my betas! Yay! First u/s and appt is Oct 1.. So far away! How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? Eh, I suppose as good as it can! I feel much better about this pregnancy than I did last. Taking it a day at a time. No scary moments or symptoms and my betas were great! Just so anxious for my first u/s. GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? Pediatric nurse!

  • Hi there! I'm jumping in since I'm new to the board :)

Pregnancy loss background (only if this your first post in this check-in): I've had 3 losses. Two are missed m/c's and one was a CP. First loss was 3.5 years ago, then I had DS (who is 2.5) and then I had my other two losses this year (one in May, one in July).

EDD (only if this is your first post in this check-in or if your EDD has changed): EDD is May 28th.

Gestation in fruits/weeks: I don't know the fruit...I don't think there is a fruit for how early I am. I should be 3w6d today so I am guess I am close to a poppy seed?

Symptoms: Lots of cramping. ever-so-slightly sore boobs.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: Nothing at the moment - my first appt isn't until October 8th.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I really don't know. The cramping is freaking me out a lot. I will start to feel pretty good about things and then I get these cramps and I worry that something is wrong.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become?  I'm an accountant. I just finished my master's in accounting a few weeks ago and I'm sitting for my last CPA exam in October.

Gestation in fruits/weeks: 6 weeks - sweet pea!

Symptoms: morning sickness that lasts all. day. long., sore boobs, exhausted.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: First app on 9/30 with the nurse for bloodwork and family history; U/S on 10/8

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?  I've been so nauseous and pukey this week that I honestly haven't thought much about it!  Everyone says being this sick is a good sign, so I'll go with that for now.
GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I'm a corporate paralegal

  • Thanks Lunabugs for running this! FX for a great u/s today! I've been MIA these past few days again taking care of my MIL. She's napping now, so I have a few free moments. :) Gestation in fruits/weeks: 6w6d, sweet pea Symptoms: Hungry all the time, sore boobs, fatigue, bloated Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: Another u/s on Friday. One doctor said our last u/s was perfect and another disagreed and said it was too low of a heart rate. Praying for a good outcome on Friday. A 4th loss would be devastating. How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I'm thankful for the distraction of taking care of my MIL. I'm trying hard to not think of what could go wrong on Fri. GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I'm a SAHM, but I have a BS in Paralegal Studies. (I'm mobile bumping, so my apologies if the format is a mess and/or for any typos).

@mattsgirls2004 I'm sorry that your doctor has made you worry. Since you were only 5w6d when you had the ultrasound the heart might have just started beating. T&Ps that you see a health heart rate on Friday!.

  • Pregnancy loss background (only if this your first post in this check-in): 2 previous MC, both at 11 weeks. Both times seeing HB at early unltrasound.

EDD (only if this is your first post in this check-in or if your EDD has changed): may 17

Gestation in fruits/weeks: 5w3d apple seed

    Symptoms: occasional nausea, sooo tired

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: did blood work at 4 weeks, I'm on progesterone and baby aspirin just incase. I have an ultrasound at 6w6d sept 27

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? Terrible. I am trying to have faith, but it is very hard. Even if the first ultrasound goes good, that doesn't mean much in my case unfortunately. Scared for my 11 week appointment. That's when the bad news of "no HB" "we aren't sure what happened" always comes.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I am a pre-k teacher. I looove my kids, but I want one of my own.
  • @mattsgirl2004 - I'm certainly no expert but everything I've seen or read says that the heart just starts beating around 6 weeks.  I think the fact that you saw a HB that early is a good thing, as some women do not and go on to have perfectly healthy babies.  I'm keeping my FX that's the case for you and that you see a nice, strong HB on Friday!

  • Gest week/fruit: 7wks 2d, blueberry

Symptoms: on and off nausea, tiredness, killer boobs, zits!

Upcoming appts: had my 1st u/s today and saw baby's heartbeat. It's the most gorgeous little blob I've ever seen! Measuring perfectly for the dates, so EDD is still may 4th.

Milestones: last time the empty sac stopped growing at 6wks 6d, so I've passed that one and by seeing the heartbeat I've passed another one. A good day for me.

GTKY: I'm a buyer for a sports company. Tomorrow I'm up at Nike HQ doing the buy for AW14. I'm thinking of trolling them because I'll be on mat leave then!

  • Thanks for organizing this.   I've been trying to talk myself into doing an Intro, and this is the post that lured me in.   Good luck to you all!

Pregnancy loss background:   This is my 4th pregnancy in 13 months.  1 MMC, 1 blighted ovum & 1 chemical.  Each pregnancy starts out with strong betas, and each one lasts less than the one before.

    EDD:  5/20

Gestation in fruits/weeks:  5 weeks today

Symptoms:  tender breasts, some nausea, some fatigue, a lot of emotion!

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc:  I have another beta next Monday.  1st U/S scheduled for 10/01 if we make it that far.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?  Not well.  I am trying to be hopeful, but it's mostly just fear.   I hate feeling like a sucker when it all comes crashing down again.  I'm trying to stay positive though and remind myself that all I can do is eat well, rest well, hydrate & follow the doctor's orders.

  • Thanks for running this, Luna. Man do I need this checkin today. PgAL brain is in complete control (and that's never good).

    Gestation in fruits/weeks: 7w5d / blueberry

Symptoms: NONE. Cue panic. Until Saturday I had pretty bad nausea daily, sore and full boobs, and extreme tiredness. I woke up Sunday symptom free except for worrisome cramping, bad at times.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: Second U/S a week from today. I've found out about both losses (MMCs) at what will be this point, both also after seeing good HBs.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? Terrible. All I can picture is seeing that terrible still picture on the u/s screen again and feeling stupid for daring to hope. I can't stop googling "loss of symptoms at 7 weeks".

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I'm a SAHM now and will be until DS (and new baby if we are blessed with a second) start school. Previously I worked in higher ed administration.

Pregnancy loss background (only if this your first post in this check-in): I have had two miscarriages -- one at ten weeks in August of 2011, one at five weeks in November of 2011. One live birth in October 2012.

EDD (only if this is your first post in this check-in or if your EDD has changed): May 15 based on LMP, but I suspect it will be a little later after my first ultrasound...I always have longer cycles.

    Gestation in fruits/weeks: 5 weeks -- I think that's an apple seed?

Symptoms: None, really. A little tired, mild cramping, and I have noticed some RLP. Otherwise, all is normal.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: No appointments yet.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I am staying pretty positive and am embracing the mantra that worrying today will not do anything to take away from the problems of tomorrow.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I work in sales at an engineering company

  • Gestation in fruits/weeks:
7 weeks today :) not sure what fruit that is some apps say blueberry others say some kind of seed

    Symptoms:
m/s is f****ing KILLING me!! The newest studies show that not just being nasious but actually throwing up means a good healthy pregnancy so ill take that as a good sign but I feel like poo! Fatigue, bit of sore boobs now and then, preggo brain, food aversions, cravings, moodiness, probably some others that can't think of ;)

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc:
just one more week til I finally get my u/s!! Hope to see very happy healthy lil baby in there!

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?
I'm terrified of losing this one. I feel mostly good about the pregnancy but just don't think that fear will go away though hopefully seeing the baby next week will ease it.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become?
I'm a stay at home wife and its a good thing with how horrible this preg has me feeling I can barely do things around the house let alone could I function at an actual job.
  • Gestation in fruits/weeks: 7 weeks and 1 day, and a blueberry!

Symptoms: constantly queasy, some vomiting, very sore breasts, fatigue

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: My first appointment is next Wednesday after school.  This will be a milestone for us since that is when I found out things weren't progressing normally last time.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I'm struggling to stay upbeat and positive some days.  With my first ultrasound approaching, it's getting hard to stay focused on the fact that I am pregnant today, but I keep trying!

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I am a special education teacher and I work with 6-12 grade students coping with emotional disabilities.  I teach in a separate school where all of our students are special needs.  I teach social studies for the school and I am a case manager to deal with paperwork and logistics for 1/4 of the students we serve.

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?  Awful.  No symptoms=huge anxiety.

  • HI all, I'm joining this discussion, thank you to @Lunabug924 for organizing!
Pregnancy Loss Background: First loss was a miscarriage around 5 weeks August 2011, 2nd loss was a MMC at my 10 week appt. LO had stopped growing at 8.5 weeks, had seen heartbeat at 6 week appt. D&C on Oct. 23, 2011, after pathology it was discovered the issue was Trisomy 21. During surgery, Dr. made a mistake and lost over a liter of blood. Fibroids were discovered and since then I have had 4 hysteroscopies. My last being Oct. 2012.

    EDD: May 17, 2014!

Gestation in fruits/weeks: 5 weeks, 3 days; appleseed, I think?

Symptoms: mostly fatigue, BBs sore, but not terrible, some cramping on and off, and mood swings are probably the worst symptom. But overall, I feel pretty darn good!

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: My first appt. isn't until Oct. 2nd. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get in sooner based on my history, but in a way I was relieved too.
How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I have good days and bad. Today I freaked because my BBs didn't feel sore and I wasn't crampy enough. I'm trying to not worry, and really focusing on praying about my worries. I'm not an over the top religious person, but I am trying to give my worries to God.
GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I am a special education teacher at a private school for kids with severe dyslexia and ADHD. I teach 9-12 graders in reading and writing. I am also in school starting my Ph.D. in Literacy Education.

  • Gestation in fruits/weeks: 6 weeks/sweet pea

Symptoms: super sore breasts, some nausea, still extremely exhausted.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: 1st u/s on Friday!!  I cannot wait, I feel like I'm counting it down until I see that heartbeat!

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you?  Since I had a later loss right now I'm just focused on what happens in the future.  I can't wait to be released from the RE so I can see my high risk doctor and find out where we go from here.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I work in a reference laboratory at our local blood bank.  I basically identify difficult antibodies and try to find blood for patients throughout Kentucky.

  • Thanks for the check-in Luna.

We have so many ladies here that in the medical and legal field! We should never need to go without either kind of advice :)

    Gestation in fruits/weeks: 6 weeks - sweatpea

    Symptoms:
Nausea (heaving, but no actual vomiting), sore BBs, constantly hungry and oh so very tired

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: I see my OBGYN tomorrow, but it will likely be just a chat to see how the pregnancy is going from my perspective. Going to be pushing for an earlier u/s than my last pregnancy. 7 weeks will be my milestone as that is when our last baby stopped growing. I dont think I will be able to stay focused until we are past 10 weeks and know the pregnancy is viable (it was 10 weeks we found out about our mmc).

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? Trying to be positive but with our loss milestone around the corner, I am questioning everything.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? Currently I am a retail manager in women's fashion. I loved my job until this past January when we had a new DSM take over our district. I am in the process of leaving (new employer extending me an offer this week - then submitting my resignation). I will be retail management again, but not in fashion.

@LunaBug924 - 10 years! Thats a long time to put up bad employers and rude customers!

@Mattsgirl2004 - Praying that you have some good news this Friday!

    @Nikkidoll15, @Oliviac2008, @Ksyknelvr73, @QOTR, @Ziegeficker, @Ebuge - I am so sorry for your losses ladies. I wish you a very H&H 9 months and welcome you to our community.

  • Pregnancy loss background (only if this your first post in this check-in): 4 losses since January 2012, the first at 8 weeks, the others at 4 weeks. The last was in August 2013. EDD (only if this is your first post in this check-in or if your EDD has changed): May 20, 2014 Gestation in fruits/weeks: 5 weeks/appleseed Symptoms: Somewhat sore bb's, a little tired, cramps come & go Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: 1st draw for betas 9/17, 2nd draw ?, 1 dr appt. 9/27 (hopefully w/ u/s) How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I'm actually doing better this time around. I think getting a BFP on the First Response digital really helped ease my mind, since with the last loss, it was only test giving me BFN when all other tests said BFP. Also, since I'm 1 week past my late period with minimal cramping & spotting, so I feel like I've passed a hurdle. GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? I manage the retirement benefits for our company and I'm going to school to get my MS in Accounting. IAmPregnant Ticker

  • Pregnancy loss background (only if this your first post in this check-in):
Got married on March 30, 2013, got pregnant on the HM, had a missed m/c and had to take the pills.  Most horrible experience ever!!! That was on June 1, 2013.  Finally got my period on July 4, then had another one Aug 9.  Was expecting to get it again, but took the HPT and here I am.  I have no idea when it happened, so I am estimating when my EDD is.....(sorry that I wrote most of the words out, but I'm not good with the acronyms!)

EDD (only if this is your first post in this check-in or if your EDD has changed): May 16th, according to my LMP....but since my cycle is so weird, it could be before that or a week after that!

Gestation in fruits/weeks: According to my EDD, 5w5d, so that would be apple seed...but I could still be a poppy seed, or I could be a sweet pea...my stupid cycle!

Symptoms: nausea all day, lower back pain, and gas! (TMI)

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc: I am supposed to have my first appt. and u/s Oct 3, but I'm switching practices hopefully...so I will update!

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? It sucks!  I am so nervous!  I keep thinking the worse is going to happen.  I just want to know that everything is ok and I can be excited.  There is not a single women in my family that has had a m/c, so I never really thought it could happen to me....I just don't want to be excited again to just be devastated.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become?  I am a 2nd grade teacher and I absolutely love it.  My due date is perfect because all testing will be done, my kids will be good to go to 3rd grade and I won't have to worry about them missing core curriculum.  I will have the whole summer with my LO and my good friend will be my daycare provider at her home!

  • Gestation in fruits/weeks: I'm about 6.5w

Symptoms: Generally not a whole lot, but I've had a mix of constipation, period-like cramps and then today, nausea at the most inopportune times.  Just enough to remind me I'm pregnant.

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or EDD's, etc:  My first u/s is on Monday the 23rd.  It is right before a big move and is pretty much at the gestation they said my last pg stopped growing.  I'm nervous to say the least.  And I get to go to it solo as DH is busy driving our dog cross-country.  At least my toddler won't be in the room this time if I get bad news...

How is "PGAL Brain" treating you? I'm nervous as hell about the ultrasound next week.  DH is wanting to tell our parents when we are back home next week...and I don't know if I can do it.  It will be our only opportunity to tell about any of our pregnancies in person (lived thousands of miles away for the first three pgs and this is hopefully our last pg), but I just don't think I can 'untell' them again, like last time.  We'll probably tell, at least then they'll be more understanding if I am all over the place with emotions or hungriness and the like.

GTKY: What type of work do you do? Or if you are still in school, what are you studying to become? Right now I'm a SAHM.  For a decade before that though I worked in Environmental Remediation.

  • Gestation: 7+6 - moving right along! :) I think that's a blueberry.
symptoms: more nausea all the time! It's worst at night. I threw up while brushing my teeth the other night. Yuck. Still ridiculously tired too.
Upcoming: first appointment and ultrasound next Tues. Very nervous but excited. US was how I found out about my miscarriage. I was feeling tons of symptoms and assumed everything was fine, so I was blindsided. That's on my mind a lot. My EDD was Sunday. That was a hard day. DH was supportive as always. I think I've kinda covered how PGAL brain is treating me.
    GTKY: family physician.
