Re: Tuesday Bedrest Check In

  • I've been sleeping good these days. Can't complain :-)

It's currently 52 degrees here in NYC with a high of 62. Wow summer is really gone. Time to pull out those coats.

Yesterday another relaxed day!! Went to bed early at 7pm woke up at 12pm then back to bed at 3am :) I take sleep how ever I can get it.

Qotd: I would love to travel the world....

  • Still didn't get much sleep only a few hours at a time. Its 51 right now in Minneapolis time for fall. I love the fall season with the colors changing and apples :)
I got bad news this morning my best friend had twins at 24 weeks one didn't survive and they just found out the other has a hole in his intestines so I'm waiting to hear how he is doing.he's in surgery right now. I'd love to be up there at the hospital with her for support but I know I can't which is hard.
I would love to travel to Canada I've never been on a plane or left the country so it would be fun.

So sorry to hear about your friend's loss and complications.  Good thoughts for her family, especially her little boy.
  • Morning, yesterday was a good day.  Went to MFM and found out my cervix is completely closed and longish at 2.8cm!  MFM very pleased and hoping we get a bunch of weeks under our belt with this good news.  Last night my uterus was very irritable ;-) and I ended up on the monitor for 2 hours until 330am.  Pretty tired today, but so thankful I stayed out of L&D.

55 degrees here in upstate NY, with a high of 64.  Supposed to get warmer by the end of the week.  Sad to be missing fall, but know its whats best for baby and me right now.

I would love to travel to Greece and lay on those beaches....ahhhhh, paradise!

@kneenah1231 glad you are sleeping well!

Update: 32weeks!!!! I get to go home in two weeks!! Slept ok but this morning has been terrible. Got up to use restroom and could not stop throwing up. My stomach (not the babies) hurt so bad. I called nurse. She came in and helped me stop gagging, clean up my nosebleed, and get back in bed. My doctor just happened to be doing rounds so we checked me out. They think it was something I ate. They put me on the monitors - babies look good, but I had a bunch of irritation. Dr decided to suspend my GD diet and have me eat crackers and tea. Stomach still feels bad but not as excruciating. Just supposed to relax now. If it keeps up, then I may need an IV. Hoping to stop this soon.

It has finally gotten below 100 degrees here. The forecast showed all mid-90s for the week which feels so much better. Although I haven't been outdoors since July 24th.... I guess that's a plus, I missed out on a Texas summer.

QOTD: Nothing really on bucket list. I had a list of things to do before 30. Accomplished them all.

  • Tossed and turned a lot last night due to hip/sciatic pain, but I think I got an ok number of hours in overall.

The weather here in Baltimore today is perfect, low 70s.  I'm about to go listen to a conference call on my lounge chair outside.

As for my bucket list, other than finally being a mom, I'd love to travel more at some point and do wine and scotch tastings throughout Europe!  Mmm, wine and scotch- it's been so long!  My bday is next week, and I might have a little wine as my treat, I think I deserve it!

Lilbuddy- hope you feel better soon, that sounds miserable.

Moonracer988- so sorry to hear about your friend, I really hope the second twin is ok.

  • Hi all!! I am new to bed rest! I was put on hospital bed rest yesterday at noon...and I haven't eaten since!! Ugh! I am 29w2d and my cervix was measuring at 1.6. Luckily it was still high and closed. I got to rounds of steroids and am on a mag drip ending in a few hours and then will go procordia(sp?). They are keeping me in the hospital for a week then hopefully I go home! I am still having some period like cramping so we will see.

I am outside of Philadelphia! The weather here is beautiful, upper 60's. wish I was out there instead of inside!

QOTD: I never thought about a bucket list...cant wait to see everyone else's ideas!

  • Hello! Sorry I've only been sporadically checking in on these threads.

Congrats on the milestones ladies! I hit 32 weeks yesterday and it feels so good!

My pain has unfortunately been through the roof, nothing is really helping today, not even the meds they gave me. Makes me really hope my cyst isn't growing or anything. I had a Dr. appointment today that was good, next ultrasound to check on my ovarian cyst is next week. Last time it was holding steady at 14cm x 10 cm, hopefully it's done growing and will calm down with the pain here soon! I can't sleep unfortunately when the pain is this bad.

QOTD: I would love to go to Europe. I hope to be able to take a family vacation somewhere over there when we're done having kids and they are old enough to appreciate it. I think I would love visiting Rome!

  • @10-4lilbuddy I'd love to see your bucket list by 30.

I didn't sleep well last night - probably 4-5 hours total but super broken up. Got a little nap in this afternoon. Still so exhausted.

I'm 36wks today and SO grateful to be here. Had a great apt yesterday and I should be off procardia and bed rest next week although she did give me the ok to go to Marshall's & to get my eyebrows done today with my mom and to get a mani/pedi with my friend this Friday. I'm paying for my outing now though with lots of contractions 8min apart.

Bucket list: I'd like to do a cruise in Europe with seaborne with the hubs. They're insanely $$ but its a very personal experience.

  • Meh sleep last night.  My husband's company had an emergency call at 1am and it was hard to get back to sleep after that.  I'm hoping for a better night tonight.

It was in the 90s today

Most of the bucket list accomplished, but I would love to see the Aurora Borealis and maybe the Maldives.  I've started adding new things to the bucket list since I hit most everything I really wanted to do (travel) or it's in process (raise a family).

@lolob45 My bucket list before 30 (I figured some of these were only things you could attempt in your 20's)....
    1) learn to surf
    2) learn to scuba dive
    3) learn to knit
    4) learn to quilt (not my idea)
    5) ride in a hot air balloon
    6) learn to fly a plane
    7) see an island in Hawaii from a helicopter
    8) canoe around a Hawaiian island
    9) get a tattoo
    10) learn to drive a manual transmission car
    11) do a trapeze class
    12) get my mba
    13) buy a house
    14) learn the value of who I wanted to be with vs who I thought I should be with
    15) go to the Philippines
    16) travel as much as possible - Asia, central america, caribbean (luckily I traveled a ridiculous amount for work)
    17) stay up all night a few times for truly amazing nights
    18) go cliff diving

I think there were a few more. I also had an attitude where I'd ask myself if I would regret not doing something when I was older. (And asked the same thing - if I would regret what I did - i am a conservative person at heart). I figured I needed to really live and explore.

I wanted to get a lot of things out of my system. I was better able to focus on career and finding my husband in my 30s. I had a very sheltered childhood and needed some rebellion.

My 10 year old step daughter asked us what a bucket list is. I explained it to her but told her she should set smaller goals because procrastinating to the end of your life may not work. Her list by 20 is to visit Paris. She's still thinking of other stuff.
