New here...my LO is two weeks old. At her appointment today I mentioned that her poop is a light green, different than my son's was (his was always mustard colour). The Dr.took her diaper in a different room, tested it for blood and then told me it was positive, and to stop eating milk and soy. Is this common? The Dr.said she has a milk protein allergy and I should cut soy out too because most babies with a milk allergy are allergic to soy too.
I would love more info, online stuff is tricky. Also should I ask to see a specialist? Should I ask for allergy testing? Is it normal to cut milk and soy both? Finally, and tips on things to eat? Soy looks like it is in everything...

Re: 2 week appointment
Thanks for the info... it is very helpful!
You'll need to read labels for foods, drinks, vitamins. I had to cut dairy and soy. It can take a good 4 weeks for the dairy to clear your and LO's systems. So give it some time. If all her symptoms don't clear up, then cut soy as well.
Allergy testing isn't reliable when they're that young. MSPI is an intolerance that is usually outgrown, often by age 1 or so. A true allergy would cause things like hives, watery/itchy eyes/nose, eczema. An MSPI baby will test negative for allergies to milk/soy, because they're two different things.

My allergist said the youngest she has ever tested was at 5 days old but that was a special case and usually waits until the child is 1. We were 8 months old when my son was tested but that's due to an anaphalexis reaction.
