NSAIF- freaking out, lost my cat- small update

So I think I lost my cat. I don't know. Our house is really small and I can't find him anywhere. I tried shaking the cat treats, using his clicker, nothing. DH is at work and I can't call him to ask if he remembers seeing him today at all. I checked in the backyard, nothing.

I also feel terrible, because he's a really annoying 14 year old cat w multiple health issues who shits on the floor in the basement all the time and I feel like I just finally just willed him to disappear somehow. Ugh!
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

  • Hope you find him soon.

  • Oops. I hope he...comes back if he's really gone?? FWIW our cat's welcome has worn really thin since S & B were born. I am just spread so thin and she is one more thing to worry about. I'm over her clawing at the carpet and furniture, throwing up, getting hair everywhere, blah, blah, blah. But she is our responsibility, so she'll be with us for the duration and will probably live until she's 30 or something.

  • Carrie, I'm so sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read this ... like, kinda hard (maybe because I know you in real life ... or maybe just because I feel the EXACT same way about our dog who is unfortunately only 5 years old, which means she will probably continue to annoy me for at least another 10 years).

I hope you find him?????? Or not!

  • I'm sorry about your cat. I'm allergic to kitties, so I'm not really a cat person.

I'm still obsessed with my little pooch. However, it is so hard to find enough time to love on her enough. The two walks a day are getting old, I'm not going to lie. We have a nice yard, she just has expectations when unmet result in bad behavior. Sigh.

I hope you find your cat.

  • One of my cats has serious attachment issues with DH and has been peeing by the front door after he leaves in the morning. I think he does it to :

    1. Spite me
    2. To rebel because he's stuck with me and the baby at home now
    3. Because he's mad that I moved his cat perch (big carpeted jungle gym) down to the basement and replaced it with the baby swing.

That being said I love him regardless and I would feel sad if he were lost.  I hope you find your kitty soon!

  • When my DH got home last night, he checked around outside the house, in the attic crawl spaces and the gross places in the basement and couldn't find the cat.

I'm going to check w the humane society and animal control today. My gut says that he is not coming back. This cat really doesn't go outside except in our fenced in yard and he's never been missing for this long. I cried a lot last night. Even though he's a difficult cat, he's still been w me for 14 years, longer than my DH. My other cat seems completely unconcerned which is weird.

  • Hey Carrie I am so sorry. I just wanted to add that our family cat did this growing up when it was her time to go. She reappeared a few days later and just presented herself by lying in a place you had to see her and it was obvious she was sick. I know that's maybe not what you want to hear but she might be out there on purpose rather than being somewhere feeling scared and alone.
  • ((Hugs)) annoying or not, they are four-legged family. I hope you find some clue that will give you peace.
