Almost eight months in, and about the only physical similarities they have are their noses.
They hardly even look like siblings, to us.
Personality wise, they've got almost nothing in common beyond normal "baby" things (like wanting to crawl everywhere, chew on things, eat....)
I love that I got two completely unique kids out of this - but part of me worries that they will resent having their "twin" status challenged for not looking alike or not being close enough, emotionally.
For those with older kids, have they had negative reactions to how other people treat them as multiples? For looking too much alike or diverse? Are yours really close despite having different personalities and interests?
**Note - we don't always dress them up in matching clothes LOL it's only for pictures, and only because people buy them matching sets - we don't intend to send them to school like this.

Re: How different (or similar) are your multiples?
Mine are ID but I feel like they really hardly look anything alike, probably b/c Luke is still a good 3+ lbs bigger than Noah....makes his face look a little rounder even though they have the same shape head, etc.
As far as personalities, they are definitely individuals! Luke tends to be more chill (though he has a passionate side!), is affectionate and cuddly, and Noah is Mr. Go-Go-Go, into everything moving all the time.....they do seem to have similar mannerisms, though, and often react to things the same way. As far as people reacting to them..... I think they're probably always going to get compared, unfortunately. It does kinda bug me when strangers meet them and automatically want to put labels on them (like if one of them smiles they'll ask "Is he the social one?" as if they both couldn't be social....) but I think that's part of the fun of being a twin.
Emotional closeness is also a good question. Mine have seemed really independent of each other from the start, but now, at 8 months, are starting to interact a lot more (babbling to each other, playing w/ each other through their crib slats, etc.) I think it will be interesting to watch their relationship develop as they grow.

Emerson Lily 6 lbs 13 oz & Ellis Willow 6 lbs 9 oz
For us, there are very few physical differences. Same eyes, hair, nose, height, weight, etc. The only physical difference is that Julie's hair swirl is on the right and Kaylin's is on the left.
As far as personality, there's not much difference yet. The only thing we've noticed is that Julie is a smiley flirt in public and Kaylin is more quite/reserved. At home they are equally wild!
That said ... I have 4y8m fraternal twin boys that are VERY different in looks, voices, and personalities. For the most part people seem to think it's cool, actually. Like I have one with blond hair and one with brown hair, one is very rambunctious and loud while the other tends to be more gentle and sweet, one looks more like DH and one like me, etc. I do sometimes get comments like, "They can't be twins! They look nothing alike!" and of course there are a few people who think non-identical twins "aren't REAL twins" but for the most part so far it's been more positive or neutral comments.
