Language vent!

Gah! I feel like we're living through the end of the english language, people. DH and I put up over 20 items on our local buy & sell this weekend - we're clearing out a room downstairs previously used for storage so we can move our office downstairs, so baby #2 can have the 3rd room upstairs. Anyways. The emails we've had about different items are atrocious! You can just tell people are emailing from their cells and want to type the absolute minimum amount.

My favorites so far:

"Want to buy
steve - phone number"

"interested"

"will buy whens convenient"

"Ill pick this up for $20 bucks" (for an item priced at $80!)

"Do u com to Place Far Away today if so can we meet at Telecom (horribly misspelled) mall?"

Argh! Plus we've had two no shows who I waited around for all afternoon yesterday. I really love buying things off these sites, but selling things really is a huge pain. I think we'll end up donating most of the inexpensive stuff because it's not worth the hassle.

  • Yup, that's my experience. The spelling get under my skin so badly.

I don't even reply to people who write like that. I especially hate the ones who ask if I want to trade, when I have a firm price listed. If I wanted to trade, I would have said so, and I wouldn't have set a price.
