Vincent is still doing great! He is off the PICC line, taking full feedings, growing, gaining weight, and even managed to latch on a couple times yesterday!

Dominic is NPO and we are waiting on intestinal biopsy results. They are supposed to be complete tomorrow. The biopsy tests for Hirschsprung's disease, which is when a portion of the colon lacks nerve cells. Either way, he is going to have surgery.

How much does your baby/babies weigh?

As of yesterday, Vincent weighs 3lbs 11oz and Dominic weighs 3lbs 13oz.

How are you holding up?

Much better than last week! I'm nervous as all get out for Dominic to be operated on! But I also realize it is necessary. If they can fix what us wrong we can start working towards coming home.

Hope all you other NICU moms are doing alright! Big hugs! Get extra sleep if you are feeling run down. It has worked wonders for my baby blues.

---She was six weeks this past Saturday

How many weeks gestation was your baby/babies born?
---30 weeks

Milestones, setbacks, goals, etc?
---Had an echo due to murmur but turned out normal, low hemoglobin and had to have a blood transfusion, still on about 30% o2 at 0.5 liters. We started bottle feeding and she's doing great, but forgets to breathe. Sucking and tiring out are not going to be a problem, she's awesome! Working on coordination between breathing-sucking-swallowing.

How much does your baby/babies weigh?
---She's at 4lb 5oz and 17" long...doubled her weight and two inches longer in six weeks!!

How are you holding up?
---Doing mostly ok. Had a breakdown this weekend because I realized (again) that I'm missing all of her firsts...first bottle, first bath, first full bottle, etc. Im also frustrated that she's still on oxygen, I have a feeling shell come home on it.

Almost 2 weeks old on Wednesday.

How many weeks gestation was your baby/babies born?

 My sweet baby boy was born 30 weeks 1 day.  

Milestones, setbacks, goals, etc?

He is off cannula in step-down room which is great but he also has some slight swelling in ventricles in brain and grade 3 IVH.  He has another ultrasound this week, hoping and praying it went down.  We are very concerned but trying to think positively and realistically at the same time.    
How much does your baby/babies weigh?
He is almost back up to his birth weight of 3 lbs 7 oz.  

How are you holding up?

I am doing alright aside from our bad news.  Just pumping a lot, taking care of our puppy and traveling back and forth to NICU which has annoyingly bad traffic either way we go.  Keeping up with regular life, cleaning, cooking etc seems to be a little much right now and my in laws are coming this weekend.

Our baby is one week old today!

He was born at 31 weeks and one day.

He's hitting all of his milestones! He's only an ounce away from his birth weight,  they've increased his feedings, his brain scan was good, he gets off the CPAP next week!

He weighs three pounds and four ounces.

I'm ok.  I just got out of the hospital on Sunday and I felt SO GUILTY leaving him there - but I know it's the best place for him.  I'm just going to focus on getting his room ready and prepping the dog for his home coming.
