Nobody here will like this name, just to prepare you. I like boys' names used in girls, and I even thought Elliot was cute on s girl the first time I heard it. But it just seems like another "original" route to the same boring nickname, Ellie. At this point, I'd avoid Elliot and Eloise equally---they're both going to get called Ellie, anyway, and there a more than enough of them in the world.
I am in the minority here, but really like Elliott for a girl. This could have something to do with only knowing girls with the name IRL, so it rings feminine to me.

This. I know several of them, they actually all go by Elliot/Elliott and not Ellie. Same with the Eloise I know...she goes by her name and not the nn Ellie.
What Scarlett&Gatsby said. You won't find love regarding boy names on girls on here. I'm not a fan either. Eloise, Eleanor, Ellen, Elle, Ella and any other El- name will you give the nn Ellie. Although I must say: good for you for owning it and not trying to give the name a 'feminine' twist by spelling it Elliotte/Elliette.
Personally, I've always loved the name Elliott for a girl ever since I was little and I wanted to name my girl that for the longest time. However, we ended up choosing something else for our daughter because of it's recent surge in popularity due to the nickname Ellie/Elle being so popular. I didn't want people to think I named her that just because of the trend.
bottom line: Love the name but it's going to look like you just followed a trend
It's my cousin's son's name. I think it's a great boy name. I do not like boy names on girls. I'm pretty tired of typing my rant about why, but I'll just say, that if you would give a boy a girl name, then cool, and if not, maybe think through the gender issues implied by that.

I agree with this. No one on this board will tell you to name your girl Elliot. Though I do like it, and I used a boys name on my girl (though it's Basil like the herb, not Bah-zil.) I never knew that girls name Elliot came from Scrubs as I don't watch the show, but I would be a bit put off by a pop-culture reference as well. We crossed a few names off our boy list because of their pop-culture references.
This reminds me of a TV show on TLC, they have a girl named Elliot. They also have a girl named Ryan. I don't know how either is spelled. But every time I hear it, I'm like "ughhhh.. so masculine". Kinda drives me nutty. Needless to say, I don't like. At all.
Yeah add me to the list that rolls my eyes when I hear it on a girl and paired with the quintessential filler middle name of Grace it just screams 2010.
My daughter's name is Elliott, so I love it. To me, it's feminine and spunky. Old people hate it, lots of people like it. You won't get any love for it on this board. Haters gonna hate
Re: Elliot
I would try to sway you to a more traditionally unisex name, as opposed to a masculine name.

Being someone with a different name I absouloutly hate boy names for girls!
Why not Juliette, Elaina or Collette? All have the same aspects but are beautiful GIRL names!
Yes, I much prefer it reversed. If you insist on Elliot, I think that Grace Elliot is miles better than Elliot Grace.
Side note-I don't understand how Elliot sounds remotely feminine to anyone. Is it because the Ellie trend is so big right now?
