TTC after 35

Grrrr TTC frustration

So I finally got my period back.
I decided not to tell DH, I figured I'd just jump on him. I'm not quite in my fertile window, but just a couple of days prior, but hey we might as well have some fun.
Twice now, we've been in the middle of sex, only to have our youngest wake up and wail. Quite the mood killer. One of these times she got up and wandered around the house wailing and then ended up in our bed, so that absolutely put a stop to things.

I'm crossing my fingers and toes that this doesn't happen during my fertile window.

Re: Grrrr TTC frustration

  • Try putting a baby gate in her doorway so she can't leave her room. I know it's hard to ignore a screaming child but eventually she will stop.
    Good luck and have fun.

  • You're going to have to get creative.  Hire a babysitter and rent a motel room would be my solution, or just park somewhere and get it on.  Or take her to a relative's or friend's place for an hour some afternoon or evening and get the house to yourselves.  Do what you gotta do to be proactive!

    All ALers welcome!

  • It's not romantic, but do it whenever you can and do it quickly. When TTC DS2 we'd hop-to as soon as DS1 fell asleep, keep the foreplay to a minimum and do the deed quickly.

Not remotely romantic, but we had a laugh and made DS2.

    Good luck!

  • She's had a bad cough that's been waking her, and she gets wheezy. So leaving her to wail isn't an option (although it's not our general approach anyway).

So I'm pretty sure this is a health based phase, rather than how she is generally. It was just frustrating that finally the month that looked like TTC could be an option, was the exact same time that DD2 managed to get a hacking cough that disrupts her sleep.

DH's come on line last night was, "so shall we wake up the baby?" Lol
