Is everyone having fun without me?

Hiya ladies!

As suggested by @elizabethb3... I'm gonna intro, even though I just arrived at the party, and all the cool presents are opened, and the cake is gone.

Due Date: May 27th 2014

Cycles Trying to Conceive: 2

Ages: Me 31, DH, 29 (yep, I robbed the cradle)

Married: 4-4-09 in a Roaring 20's themed wedding... in a restored historic prison. (Don't worry, we made it classy).

Kids: We have one son born June 16th 2011. So he'll be turning 3 years old, just a week or two after this nugget is born. And two furbaby mutt dogs: Atticus (Atty boy) & Finch (Finny girl).

The Story: We were all set to start trying in January and then my son got very ill. He lost way to much weight for an 18 month old because he could not keep food down. Lots of testing ruled out lots of scary things, and we were relieved, but he has not yet been diagnosed outside of allergies to dairy and eggs. He takes an acid reducer that has helped tremendously. He has gotten his baby cheeks back and is gaining back weight now.

Around the time my son was getting better, my DH was laid off from a great job. Another blow that stopped our plans. Since then, we have re-arranged our spending and realize that with his severance and me doing well at my job, it's best for him to stay home with DS until he finds something worthwhile. Its been great to save the babysitting money and for DS to get so much time with DH while he's looking these couple months.

Who we told: So far, my best friend. She and I were 1 week apart and pregnant last time around. And this time around we will be 3 months apart. My mother who was very happy but did say jokingly "thank god, you weren't getting any younger and neither am I". And we told the in-laws. They did not know we were trying and I was worried they would judge us because of DH's layoff. But they said they knew we are good with money and my mother in law said "I'm gonna get off the phone and jump around now"...lol.

We are waiting to tell others until some doc appointments have passed. ALL of my FRERs were faint and I don't like that. But we did get a + digital today. So crossing my fingers thats ok. I only used digitals with DS so I wouldn't know if his were squinters.

So glad I'm seeing some faces from TTGP board and excited to get to know the rest of you

Thats awesome!! I wasn't as big a poster the first time around but I believe I posted there a couple times. I love your siggy pic, he is darling! Boy babies in grandpa sweaters playing in leaves, gotta be the cutest thing ever!

Congrats! Our DS is almost 18 months old and is also sensitive to dairy. Good luck to you! Oh and I had all squinters too and was pretty bummed but finally 4 days later I got a nice dark line. It could just take some time.

Hi Miniray, I remember you! Food allergies are just no joke right! I never even knew anyone who had them until DS. I'm glad it's just dairy and eggs. He loves rice milk, and egg replacers are easy to use. At first they thought no wheat as well and that one was a KILLER for a kid who needed to gain weight.

And thanks for the squinter info. It was kind of deflating to not get to celebrate because of not feeling sure. I have decided to stop using the FRER, and only digital from here on out if I need confirmation until I get to the doc for a blood test.

I know, it's like candyland over here compared to TTGP....lol. But I love those girls for teaching me so much about my body.

Thanks Kate. It evolved over many months into a much bigger hoopla than anticipated. I would say about 80% of our guests dressed in 20's clothes for the big day. I hate weddings myself, so we wanted to make it about the friends and family having fun.
