Posted in another group but thought this might be a good place too. Found out at my 6 week doc appt. I have diastasis. Anyone one have any ab exercises they can recommend or resources where I can find ab moves to help fix diastasis. Anyone use a binder and found it helpful? Thanks ladies!!
Re: Diastasis
Don't do crunches which make the muscle separate further, consider a postpartum girdle type support garment to help support the abdominal muscles and use good body mechanics like with getting out of bed (roll to side then push self up which is called log rolling)
You may also consider the help of a physical therapist whom is a women's health specialist. To find one in your area go to apta.com then click on "find a PT". PTs are specially trained in rehabbing the abdominal muscles.
The other binder/girdle with great reviews and recommended by the american physical therapy association is Bellefit. They are spendy but look like they would be really helpful for diastasis.
