when do I tell my.child that I'm pregnant?

When is the best tine to tell my 10 year old son that I am pregnant? He knows that my husband and I wanted one. His dads girlfriend is due the end of the month. I'm 4 or 5 weeks. I want to tell peoplw but I'm not sure when to tell him.

We waited until towards the end of the 1st trimester. Ds(13 now), took it very well and was excited. We took him out to a fancy dinner and told him.

The longer you can wait the better. I agree that the end of the first tri is good timing, unless you are like me and "show" really early :-)

Well, tell him before you go public, but the amount of time before that depends on you and your son. Don't be my friends who told their five year old, and then were surprised that the five year old told the teachers and kids at her school (where the dad works).

Well I have told a few friends and he's told one friend and their wife. Both our immediate families know and people at my work know... because now I can't be moving heavy as crap tables and boxes. He knows all about babies. I'm thinking maybe the earlier I tell him the better. Afraid hell get mad at me if I tell him later and he finds out I've been pregnant for so long. We are very close. I am thinking though to at least wait until after my first dr appointment next week tuesday. I want to tell the world but I don't want him to find out from someone else
