My first ongoing symptom....

I've had here and there symptoms.... Occasional nausea, some days I'm tired, etc nothing too substantial yet (almost at 6 weeks), however, sorry for the TMI, but this whole last week I can't poop!!! LOL I've literally cried over this!!! Silly hormones !!!! Anyways my RE nurse said Colace or Miralax which I'm going to try for some relief but anyone have tips to keep this at bay?? I can't stand prunes any other good foods to ER to keep things moving along better?!?! Thank yooooou!!!

My OB suggested the following

Dried apricots, regularly
warm apple juice with miralax
Colace, twice a day regularly

If that didn't get things moving, milk of magnesia every 6 hours for 24 hours. If I didn't have movement in 24 hours to call back.

Stuff moved, it wasn't pretty and it wasn't easy.

I feel your pain, I had major bathroom issues until week 12ish...feel better soon!!!

Colace worked for me. I also eat Greek yogurt almost every day.

I was severely backed up and my ob told me 2-4 TBL of milk of mag followed by something warm to drink. If nothing happens in a hour repeat. Add in miralax in the a.m. If you still need some help. Then take 2 pericolace nightly for maintenance. It's better than colace because it has a light laxative not just stool softener. This regim has worked for me. I take two pericolace every night and go daily. If I notice I haven't gone in a couple days which has only happened once I add the miralax.

i take miralax daily.  it works 95% of the time but there are days that i don't go at all, and that makes it worse for the following days.  my acupuncturist says to try kefir but i haven't tried it consistently.

My OB recommends daily stool softener and milk of mag at night if you haven't had a BM that day. Lots of water and maybe a little coffee here and there has helped me, too.

I had the same problem! It was so painful. I tried everything. Best thing was fiber one bars! They're yummy, too!

Omg I still go thru this at 21 weeks. Fiber gummies. I know it sounds funny but try fruit loops too. Metamucil works. Dont get too backed up, hemriods are no fun!

I had that problem at first and now it went the other way and I have diarrhea almost daily which is also freaking me out!!! Sorry if TMI. I am not sure which is worse

Hi Kflynn.... I also recommend miralax daily.  I also ate a TON of fibre.  It has worked for me.... and when I thought I was "cured" I stopped the mirilax and bam... almost immediate constipation.  Good luck!

I increased my probiotic strength.  I'm dairy free, so I use the plant probiotics, which are not as good as the ones derived from dairy, but works for me!
