Flu shot increases risk of miscarriage 700%

Courtesy of my BMB. Luckily most ladies get that this is false.

  • The comments on posts like that one are always good for a laugh. Maybe I shouldn't be laughing b/c it's really scary how many stupid people there are out there.

Drug companies are injecting our babies with viruses! Oh no! Uh, that's kind of the point.

  • Because Elderberry fights the Whooping Cough? Should've done that in December when my twins were fresh out of the NICU. Instead of, you know, vaccinating and staying inside away from the psychos who don't vac. I will have to let our Pedi that next visit!

  • I do view the flu vaccine as low priority compared to measles and other horrid diseases. Like, I wouldn't keep ds away from kids who had all their other vaxes but no flu shot.

-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
  • I guess I beat the odds because I got a flu shot while pregnant.

hmmm, I guess poisoning ds with a little bit of formula and not feeding him organic food fucked up his immune system, killed his kidneys, caused his other health problems, all because I fed him poison. Oh, wait, he was born like that. I must have been the culprit. Curse you coffee.

We all get the shot every year, almost no reaction. If 700% were true, I have miracle babies.

Last year I caught the flu before I got my shot, it had been over 20 years (I had to count back, I didn't think it was that far, but sheesh) since I had a bad/not mild case. I thought I was on fire and couldn't breathe - a ton of bricks on my chest. It took six weeks for my lungs to clear. My sil who isn't too bright still wouldn't get the shot, because she "reacts" and throws up/has GI symptoms. She very likely had Norovirus because it went through her whole office. She still doesn't get even after showing her, that the flu doesn't typically involve your GI system (unless you cough so hard you throw up).

  • @Igoo0304 I'll have to remember the elderberries. And possibly garlic too. The garlic should ward off stays in infectious diseases ward, right? It's like warding off evil!

I'm still pissed, even years later at the asshats who chose not to vax for chickenpox, then had a pox party, and THEN sent their now contagious kids to school. The bitch (I actually harsher words for her than that) had the nerve to tell me it was in my head that chicken pox was deadly, it only killed kids in third world countries and that it was a "safe" childhood disease. L spent MONTHS in reverse isolation with chicken pox (again, he's still not immune), and later under watch for necrotizing fasciitis because the pox got infected. It took him so long to shake it. I wished I had legal recourse for what they did. It's one thing to not vax, it's completely irresponsible to send a contagious child to school. FFS.

That is nuts! I am so sorry that you and your LO had to deal with that.

  • Garlic wards off fleas too!

I can';t stand this stuff. I get that it's the flu shot, but not vaxing pisses me off.

  • My favorite part of the article is that she states right off the bat "i am not qualified to give medical advice" and then speaks about thhe subject in detail.
