It just says: INCREASES your chances....not necessarily makes you have an abortion. In any case, every single person who I know personally got the Flu vaccine in the past--got the WORST FLU of their lifetime right afterwards....go figure! (I never got one and never will for personal reasons!)

Research does not mean pick any article and believe it. The articles you read are reliable sources ONLY if they are sited by medical professionals.

Like for instance if you want medical advice from the internet, Mayo Clinic, is a very reputable site as were a mom blog is not.

You siggy says you have 3 DDs, and I hope you do not base their care off mom blogs and the internet. Sometimes you have to stop, think about it, then post. Otherwise you are going to end up getting flamed pretty bad if you keep making post like this.

Please research and don't believe the first thing you read.

I do my research from different sources not just random blogs, all I wanted is honest opinions from you mamas. No offense...

They did give you honest opinions, that the statistic in the article is a bunch of bs. I honestly wouldn't do "research" by compiling statistics from websites across the internet named mommypotomus. I would be going to the library and using their subscriptions to medical journals.
Any statistics that do not come from peer reviewed research are pretty useless since the results cannot be replicated.

I did not read any reponses. Isn't that stat re the H1N1 the swine flu vax? That's different than the typical flu vax. Less people got that which could make the statistical sample smaller, and this less reliable for proving any matters of causation. Also, that vac was a completely new strain, so potentially more volatile.

First, just to toss it out there, after much research, a lot of worry, & talking to various doctors, I DID get the H1N1 Flu Shot Vax WHILE pregnant.  Hospitals were filling up, they were putting very strict restrictions on who could be in the maternity wards & who couldn't (for both labor/delivery & visiting, etc).  There were deaths being reported in the papers, newborns winding up in the NICU, lots of scary stories on tv, radio, newspaper, medical journals, etc.  

My baby survived.  She's normal.  2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 nose, 1 mouth, two arms, two legs, no extra digits on hands or feed...all body parts are accounted for & work as they should, she's extremely intelligent, VERY pretty, & has a lot of empathy.  In my eyes, she's as close to perfect as any baby (now 5 yr old) can be.

And NO.  I do NOT have Polio, Diptheria, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella or any other frigging disease inside me just waiting for a chance, simply b/c of all the pollution & crap left inside my body b/c of how I'm living & if I get any of these diseases, I'm sure as shit going to consider myself under attack.

I have gotten my kids vax'd b/c there are years & years & years of records/stats showing that people DO die from these diseases.  I know elderly people who were infected with Polio in their childhood, who HAVE had Measles, etc., & they still vividly remember the pain, the issues, the side effects, &, someone they knew who died, but I have yet to run across/know someone that has died from a vaccine, or a bunch of people who know someone who has.  It's not common.  

Can it happen, I'm sure in some cases, yes, but the numbers who die from these diseases greatly outnumber the ones who die from vaccines.   I was vax'd, my DH was vax'd, relatives on both sides were vax'd, my oldest two were vax'd, and I'm sure my youngest two will be, also. 

700%, my wide rear-end.  And nobody knows b/c it's not like mom's talk to each other about their losses or their triumphs, so...yeah.  700% of the women who experienced losses just all pretended it never happened, & aren't out there publicly shouting in anger & fear & warning...b/c that's the way mom's roll, right?  NOT.

Ooooh my goodness, this thread is a mushroom cloud of silly. High five to all PP's who suggested MayoClinic, an actually licensed physician, and basic math skills all be used as sources for advice before "Mommypotamus". I got a flu shot last time, I'm getting one this time, and Books isn't mean, so there!

Please do all of us a favor and stop posting bogus information from the Internet. If it's NOT from a medical journal, do not post it. I am a NICU nurse and work closely with OB's and other nurses and doctors on a daily basis. The flu shot is perfectly ok for pregnant women and is HIGHLY recommended as pregnant women are considered high risk for getting the flu. Please take a little time and make sure your sources are credible. Thanks!

Wow....props to those who mentioned Mayo, I have them as my Dr and they are wonderful. Props to those who mentioned the math didn't work out. And op please don't post bogus stuff like this.
