Crash Course in Coconut Oil

Hey guys,

I know a few of you are Coconut Oil enthusiasts and I was wondering if I could get the 411 on use. My midwives have highly suggested switching to that for overall health but particularly breastfeeding which is 5 days away as of tomorrow.

Any awesome websites or just a run down of how you use it would be lovely.

Re: Crash Course in Coconut Oil

  • I use it for mostly baby and skin related things. I use it for diaper rash, in my sons wipes solution, as a lotion, scalp treatment, ect. I only really use it to cook certain things since it does leave a taste behind.

  • Oh, and it's solid until it hits 75 degrees.

  • I use it for my daughter's curly hair. And for making sweet potato French fries

  • I use it mainly for skin things but not for cooking unless I want a coconutty flavour. Also the research behind it in terms of heart health is not conclusive, and it's still a saturated fat so I'll stick with olive or canola oil for cooking.

That's what I thought. I was mildly confused about using it as a dietary supplement.
