High-Risk Pregnancy

GD- 35 weeks and getting low numbers?

I thought it was a fluke. 2 days ago, I was really bad and ate a Klondike bar for breakfast. My fasting sugar had been 78. A little over an hour after eating, it was 82. So I ate a sandwich (2 pieces of super delicious white bread, mayo, cheddar cheese, roast beef, and turkey. yum). Exactly one hour later, 84. Then I ate some blackberries and a yogurt, and 2 hours later, was up to 154. half an hour after that, it started going down, 127. After dinner was fine.

Yesterday was good.

Today, fasting was 70. Breakfast (2 scrambled eggs, a slice of swiss cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, and a banana) and an hour later, 85. I was told we probably wouldn't need to increase my carbs for the remainder of the pregnancy, we did increase my protein several weeks ago, though. I've been feeling a bit off all morning, too.

I've been on the diet since 12 weeks, taking 14 units of Humulin-N at bedtime since 14 weeks. I should be a pro at this by now. If anything, I'd be expecting my numbers to be getting higher, as I'm under an awful lot of stress lately. These lows are just confusing. I know they aren't getting too low, since I'm checking so frequently that I can correct it with snacks, but it sucks.

  • Not yet. I go in for a sugar check on Tuesday, and since this is just starting, I figured I can wait a few more days and get more numbers recorded.

I will be a very happy pregnant lady if they tell me I can increase my carbs, though!
