Good Neuro Update!

Well, as good as we can get from neuros, who are notoriously vague! Anna (8 mo actual, 5 mo adj) had an MRI on Saturday and we saw her neurosurgeon and neurologist today. Anna's ventricles are still large but smaller than they were pre-shunt placement so it seems to be doing its job. We've passed the prime infection period but we'll continue to watch for malfunctions. It's harder now that her fontanel is closing, so we just have to watch for irritability, headaches, and vomiting. All of which are also associated with teething, yikes!

Her neurologist was happy with how far she's come cognitively (tracking, etc.) We know we'll be getting a CP diagnosis at some point judging by how affected her left arm/hand are, but he gave us a little more hope when he said "Will she be a left-handed pitcher? No. Will she walk by a year? No. Will she walk? I think so."

We go back in 6 months and in the meantime, therapy, therapy, and more therapy!
