  • Here! I am in serious restraint mode and haven't purchased my own wrap yet since I can borrow from our babywearing group's library. Right now I have a hoppediz woven which is good for learning but I have had my eye on a bali breeze since it's still so hot here in TX! I am going to attempt to wrap Anna on my back tonight before I give this one back and maybe take a mei tai home from our meeting on Sat! I love wrapping, but Anna is a hot box. We use the k'tan breeze a lot since it's the only one we own but my mom is getting DH a ssc next week for his birthday if we can find one he likes. I am SO ready for fall!

I have a hot box, too! We used the wrapsody Bali breeze in the warm weather when my ds1 was a few months old.. It's a good wrap for a newborn, but I found it was a little bit diggy in my shoulders so probably would have hurt more if DS was bigger.. My first bought wrap (after the wrapsody) was a Girasol azure blue weft.. Very awesome beginner wrap, and still my favorite to this day! It's so buttery soft and super supportive! Perfect for back carries! I recently bought an Elleville Zara in a 4 but I can't for the life of me get it to wrap well.. 4s are too small when my bust is still ginormous! Ooga spooky I got in a 6, too, so I'm hoping this will be a new favorite!! Back carries have been the hardest for me to accomplish! I stopped wrapping for like 5 months when I was pregnant wit DS2, but now that I'm not pregnant and DS1 is 14mos, he is SO much easier to wrap on my back.. Like. I'm confident now back wrapping him by myself in the parking lot, where as when. First started, I always wrapped squatting on my bed *just in case*! I have a local BWI group, too, but find its so hard to get to the meetings! Especially with 2 so close in age! But, I stalk the international FSOT swap on FB like its my J-O-B!! LoL

  • @theresat858 I love the kokadi wraps - tosba is turtles, right? I like that one.. I wanted to get the diorite in black and white, but then saw spooky and was in love .. Especially with Halloween coming!! Kokadi s are all cotton right? How do you like the thickness? I almost got spooky in a RS, but I can't get comfortable with the RSs.. My kiddies move around way too much! DS1 arches when I've wrapped him rebozo (so like he'd be in a RS) and DS2 just squirms so much.. Makes me afraid they're gonna fall out the bottom!! I like longer wraps so that way I can reinforce since my boys are stinkers ;-)

  • DS had reflux. We're just finished weaning him off meds at 14 months.. So, spitting up happened for a while! And, I started back wearing him by 4 months.. Depending on the carry, he always was well supported (but, like Theresat said, he also had really great head control).. But, back wearing n an ergo (which I'm assuming what Andrea is saying) is probably well supported on the neck, too.. Idk I never use the ergo,, it's just not comfy for me, but hubby uses it all the time,. But, we don't have an infant insert and I didn't buy it until DS1 was 4-5 months.

  • Andrea.. My friends son was a happy spitter.. He's just now improving at 10 months. @theresat858.. I usually assume any mom trying a back carry is somewhat experienced.. I've seen some moms wrap their newborns on their backs! I could not do that!! At least not without help.. Was posting somewhere earlier about doing back carries on DS now at 14 months being SO much easier than at 4 months! I took a break from wrapping between 6mos to 13 mos because of having DS2 and I can't believe ow much easier he is to wrap now that he's bigger!! I used to wrap him on my back squatting on my bed *just in case* but now I have no problems wrapping him on my back outside! Also.. Your Didy pfau.. Is that a linen? I've not had a Didy yet.. But, have had my eye on a tussah silk blend ...! The swap is such an addiction of mine!! I spend so much money on wraps!!!

  • I am so jealous. I think when we have another LO I will try to get into wraps. DD is well past the point of wanting to be worn cuddly!

  • @RusalkaSings I completely agree with Andrea ri -- DD would probably like back carries more now!  DS will bring me my wrap when he wants up, it's so cute :)  Especially now with his molars bugging him a lot, he likes the closeness of being wrapped, but the versatility of being on my back and being able to see everything around him..
