My faves are Shipyard and Sam Adams which according to this article makes me think I don't have a very sophisticated palate. But considering how much I like cheap wine that's not all that surprising.
I think I am going to have to try some of these though.
Ok... So I'll raise this thread from the dead since I was away when it was brought up...
Mead: If you can find it, Moonlight Meadery. Can be a little pricey, but it is amazing.
Beer: In the fall I start to transition to darker beers. Porters and stouts. Pumpkin beers are hit and miss with me depending on the way they spice it. I had the Redhook Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter recently and that was good.
I do have a russian imperial stout that is almost ready to go on tap. Made that one 3-4 months ago and I am eager to try it out.
Also, for the men of the board, Dh once had a beer that tasted like smoke and bacon. I was Pg, so I only had a sip, but it tasted like a bonfire and bacon. Very strange, but awesome! Can't remember the name though ...

The Yuengling Oktoberfest is even better than the Sam Adams one. Do you guys have it on the West coast or is it just a NE thing?
Yuengling is an east coast operation. Tennessee is the furthest west they distribute I believe.
That's too bad. It's a very good relatively inexpensive beer. My parents live pretty close to the brewery and it's always been on tap at every bar. Some places even offer fish bowls of it.
Pumpking Ale. Mmmm @jack19 I want that sweet potato beer right meow
yeah its fantastic. Another great one is Imperial Pumpking, its ale brewed with pumpkins 8.6% alcohol. in a sea of pumpkin beers and seasonals its a true standout.
@laurelbee i also bombed a dark rum shot in the sweet potato beer the other night, omg

I love regular red session but I've never tried the black. Does it have a coffee taste? I hate my beer to taste like coffee. My favorite is Rogue's Dead Guy- I just wish it wasnt so expensive
Guinness has its time and place but unless it's St Paddys or I'm breast feeding, I'd rather have something hoppy. Session comes in these little stumpy bottles that I associate with summer because we always took them on the river. They used to have a little hand doing either rock, paper, or scissors under the label. Do they still have that?
Hopslam is a good hoppy beer! Also Goose Island Bourbon County Stout is good stuff if you like the taste of whiskey.
@karbird5 I call Guinness my booby beer. I am BFing and drink it for my milk supply. Dh isn't allowed to drink it bc it's MINE plus, I think he's secretly afraid he'll start lactating.

@emkatrine it is only brewed in small quantities once a year. I think the website says November, but I'm pretty sure it came out in Oct last year. Dh has 4 bottles he squirreled away for a "special occasion."

Oooh- I might be able to find that one. We have one grocery that carries Dogfish Head.

I'd say similar, but not as dry and not as full. If that makes any sense at all.
I feel like Fraiser at a wine tasting. My trader joes beer contains hints of blackberry and unicorn dust.
