Qotd: If you won the $240million dollar lotto, what would your first purchase be?

Re: Thursday Bedrest Check In*

  • I slept ok I guess. My little on allowed me to have at least 3hrs :-)

Yesterday my friend who is also on bedrest for the same issues as myself. Weak cervix with cerclage. She is 3wks behind in gestational wk. I went to high school with her sister and always looked up to her. Last yr when my son pasted away I found out her past at 21wks also a few months before. After not seeing or speaking to each other for over 13yrs she and I became so close because of the loss of our sons. Well she texted me last night she got into a car accident. She is 27wks and now in hospital being motored for possible placenta aburtion. If the placenta did detach she will have an emergency c-section. I woke up thinking about so I just texted her hope she is doing better last we spoke it was 12am and she was having contractions. Her selt belt pressured aganist her belly and u/s showed spots on her placenta. I have fear being in cars because NYC drivers are wild animals. I take a cab to my appts everyday and always paranoid.

I have an appt today with my MFM and a ultrasound for fetal growth and cervix. Hoping my cervix is still stable.

Qotd: my first purchase would be a huge house where I can bring my mom to live with me :-) I would prefer to stay in NYC because with that money I can afford to live here lol..

  • Happy Thursday
I slept well last night... I'm trying to get myself on a better sleep schedule so instead of taking a few naps here and there I actually get a full 6 hours ish of sleep... so far so good
just trying to see what works!

Today a friend is coming over to help unpack some boxes and help straighten up the house... and then my other friend is coming later so we can scrapbook and do some crafts. Im really looking forward to it!!!

qotd FIRST thing I'd do is sign up for cryocell for baby
then pay off our homes, cars, credit cards
put tons away in savings/college funds
splurge on tons of baby things :)

    Good morning ladies!

Sleep did not happen last night. Came off mag at 1230a and got steroid shot at same time. Nurse was a beast and it hurt much more than the night before. Then monitors wouldn't stay on so they were in every time I fell asleep to readjust them.
Got moved into my new home in antipartum at 530a. Nice, small room.

Today is the first day if my next pregnancy adventure!

Qotd: I'd move to a new home. I love love my house, but would love more land and a pool. I'd set to college funds for twins and 15 yr old sister. I'd also buy my dad a house in a warm climate so his health issues would improve.

  • How did everyone sleep? I should've never been excited about 3 hour stretches of sleep yesterday.  I was back down to 1 hour stretches last night.  What give?! I'm exhausted but not sure if it's better to stay away today so I'll sleep tonight - or take naps.  Opinions?

Milestones?updates?appts?  Starting week 2 of bed rest out of 7!

Qotd: If you won the $240million dollar lotto, what would your first purchase be? I'd build my dream house completely child-proofed!

  • Update: 31w 2d - 18 days left in hospital / 50 done. Slept really well last night. I shut down and went to bed at 10:45. They woke me up twice for my usual meds. I did wake up once lying flat on my back in my Snoogle with no covers. Not sure what was going on there. Babies were really quiet last night which is odd for them. They are moving around again this morning.

QOTD: I'd buy a super fancy minivan. We need to buy a bigger vehicle since we will now have the twins in addition to my ten year old stepdaughter. We have been trying to save enough for a good downpayment and find a good value. I want to buy used but DH is obsessed with buying a new one. We're looking at the Mazda 5, Odyssey, and Siena. After that, we'd pay off all our bills, set up college funds, and figure out a way to set up an annuity to live off of for the rest of our lives so we can stop working. Ahhh... That would be awesome. Heck, I'd settle on winning enough for the minivan!

  • Good morning everyone!  Sounds like lack of sleep is the majority; here too.  Nothing new to report, which is always good news IMO.  Hooked up to contraction machine this morning and had none!  First time for everything.  My OB is optimistic that things will hopefully continue to improve.  Still no sign of when I will be discharged, which is okay by me as long as the little one stays cooking.

@kneenah1231 I hope your friend and her little one are okay, thinking good thoughts

If I won all that money, I would buy and build my parents dream house (they have always struggled with money).  And then I would hire a house keeper for my family!
  • Hi all!  Haven't been too many changes lately, but finally nearing the home stretch!

First, sorry to all about the lack of sleep -  congrats to YouMe&Baxkneenah1231 - I really hope all is well with your friend and her LO following the accident.

I'm 31 weeks today, tomorrow will be five of six weeks of hospitalized monitoring and I'm scheduled to meet these crazy little people next Friday morning (the 20th)!  I've finally convinced the new hospital staff that I can have up to 10-12 unfelt contractions an hour and it is my "normal" so they aren't losing it every time it happens (there really has been no change in their character since 16 weeks and my cervix is still long and closed)...

While the hospitalization has gone remarkably well - I'm really getting anxious about making it to next Friday now that it's so close.  All signs point to everything being really great (LOs passing BPPs with flying colors, NSTs look great, passed FFN, etc) my little MoMo girls remain the wild card... I know most people say that once they get out into the world you really start worrying, but in my case, the known hostile environment is the remaining space my uterus (with 10.5 lbs of babies) and a sudden cord issue.  I will be much happier with them in the NICU being taken care of by people who care about them and not endangering one another.  Almost there!

QOTD: Pay off our mortgages and immediate family.  Stash the rest in long-term investments and live off the interest.   Start my own foundation with a part of it to give back.
  • Oh! And I hit 50 lbs of the 60 lbs of weight gain goal the doctors set for me this week... Probably won't make it to 60 by next Friday - but given that I didn't start till 12 weeks (lost weight first tri), was sick till 21 and then have had a shrinking stomach for awhile - I'm pretty proud of myself!

But I'm never touching ensure again after next Friday... :-q

Great job! Especially while in the hospital! My weight gain for this entire pregnancy has been pathetic. I gained a lb last week and was so excited. I hated that I had to give up Ensure due to GD.

  • I worked with the dieticians to get me access to the pediatric menu... Chicken tenders and fries probably didn't hurt. I don't have GD - I'm sure that complicates everything a million times over - but if you talk to them they may be able to help you find super calorie dense foods on the menu that are compatible... I lost 4 lbs in the hospital my first week in before I got the dieticians on board.

You did great to gain on a GD diet on bedrest!!
