I just had my 39 week appt with my MW and she wanted to do a cervical check, I am not dilated, and she said my cervix is soft but most concerning is that baby is still "floating" and has not dropped or engaged at all. She proceeded to say that she was not optimistic at all that I would have a vaginal birth. She said she hated to say it and wasn't taking it lightly but that most people had some dropping by this point and I would likely need a c section.
I am really upset because I felt like there was sill plenty of time to drop but she doesn't think she will. She said she will let me try it vaginally but doesn't want me to go for long and doesn't think ill start labor without being induced.
She recommended seeing a chiropractor to use Webster technique which I have an appt tomorrow am. I am also using epo, rrlt, yoga ball and going to try to increase my walking even more.
Does anyone a) have any suggestions of other things to try and b) have any positive stories to share of a "floating " baby at 39 weeks with natural delivery success?

My Ovulation Chart
I'm seeing another MW next week for my 40 week appt and hope to get a different answer then but I really like the one I met with yesterday. Perhaps she was just off of her game or something because she just kept saying her "gut" was telling her that I would not be able to have a vaginal birth. She made it seem a lot more about the "floating" head then the cervix which I know doesn't mean much,
However, 2 of the 3 midwives at the practice have both said they don't want me going much past 41 weeks so I felt a little cornered about having to schedule an induction date for 41.3 days, but again I will talk to the other MW next week to see her opinion as well.
I just feel really disappointed. I was feeling so excited and optimistic about the delivery and now I'm stressed and anxious. I hope that I just spend the next 5 days worrying like a crazy person since I know that is unavoidable and then I can get better news at the appt. on Tuesday.

I will say that I never felt my LO drop or felt any difference during the end of my pregnancy. I went into labor one random day out of the blue. Stay positive and try not to let the discouraging words of your MW affect you. Your LO has time to drop and engage for L&D.

I'd get a new midwife if she said that. Now she'll have a made-up timer going in her head for how long she'll let you labor, instead of just letting your body do its job.
Plenty of babies aren't engaged until you're in active labor. Sometimes it even takes your bag of waters to break + active labor to get baby engaged. It's all normal.
Anyone that practices medicine on a "gut feeling," whether it's an OB or a MW, is no good in my book.
Inducing at 41w3d is not a problem for me, and was my MW's preference (although I only went to 40/6 before labor started). Definitely start talks now if you want to go to 42 weeks, and expect extra monitoring often during that time.
