High-Risk Pregnancy

New Here

Hi ladies!! New to the HR board and wanted to introduce myself.  I had DS at 33w4d due to a placental infection and he now going to be 2 in November!  Currently pregnant with #2 (edd 2/12) and they are putting me as high risk since because of my PTL.  Have been getting p17 shots since 16 weeks along with bi-weekly cervix checks.

On top of all of this I just found out I have complete placenta previa! I am so upset and just feel lost.  I just feel that I was doing everything to prevent a possibly premature birth and now feel like I am getting hit with a ton of bricks.  I do not kno anything about placenta previa but have done some research (probably not the best idea b/c I am a worry wart) and am hoping that it moves up-- Next appt is  in a week.  What is the hardest part is staying off my feet with a toddler! Just moved to a new area 2 months ago and have not have much time to make new friends yet.

Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening!!

Re: New Here

  • Your little boy is so handsome.  Congratulations, too.

Now, stop worrying, lol.  Easy to say, I know, not so easy to do.  If you want to spend your time reading about horror stories, do yourself a favor and also read up on the natural things you an do and eat that will help prevent it.

I'm glass half full, and rather than be bum that I'm possibly going to miscarry, I want to spend my time researching what they do in other countries to prevent it.  I think the main theme of everything I post here turns into a Traditional Chinese Medicine push.  But I feel it works for me, so I'm going to go as far as I can.  I still believe in going to the doctor, I do have one and I go to the clinic, but that doesn't mean I can't decide how I am going to do things at home, either.

Goofy me, I stocked up on the foods recommend in TCM for help prevent miscarriage.  I cannot say if it works or not, but I am not going to take any chances in not believing in it.

I don't want to sound preachy, I want you to know you have options.  Power of positive thinking is in your reach - go for it.
