I'm still a newbie to the whole cloth diapering thing... I started off using Gerber Prefolds that I was given with some Econobum covers. LOVE the covers.
I ordered some Econobum prefolds and at first sight I thought, "WOW These are so much better" but I am having the toughest time folding them. The Gerbers seem to be easier to do all sorts of different folds but Econobums seem really super bulky on my little guy. Maybe I am just doing it wrong. I don't know. Has anyone else felt that Econobum prefolds are too bulky?
Any recommendations for other prefolds I should try? I kinda like the Gerbers but they are starting to fray at the edges and I've been using them for maybe a month or so now.
Thanks!
Re: Econobum Prefolds too bulky?
OMG...Osocozy or Clotheez (otherwise known as green mountain diapers) will rock your world. Even Imagine brand (which are less expensive) will be a huge step up from Gerber.
Seriously get some to try. And yes, I think Econobum are bulky early on and not big enough when baby gets bigger.
BTW, you can still use the Econobums by just tri-folding (into thirds the long way) and laying them in the covers once they no longer work with a snappi/pins.
Be aware that by doing that when LO is still on an BM or Formula only diet without solids, the poo will likely run off the prefold and onto the cover. It works like a charm once you start solids and get thicker poo though!
