Ok, FTM here.  I have lurked, and read blogs, taken notes, read reviews and now that I am thoroughly confused and happily going to use CD, I need some advice.  I was reading about stashes and tried to mimic them and decided to fill an Amazon cart full and then ask opinions before I purchase anything.

Please any and all opinions welcome.  Do I have two much of 1 thing, no enough of something.  Just need some guidance.

For the Best Bottom - What did you get?  I'd go for a cover plus 3 inserts if you are just getting it to have a variety and see what you like.  I use them overnight with a doubler and a cotton/hemp insert.

Stash:

1 - 3 pack of Baby kicks joey Bunz Although I've heard these are great, you probably won't need them until baby is STTN, and maybe not even until toddlerhood if you don't have a heavy wetter.  I'd wait in them till you know you need them or decide you want something different.

2 - bumGenius Newborn Cloth Diaper I've heard pretty poor reviews on these.  It sounds like most babies outgrow the absorbency before they outgrow the size.  We're talking in like 2 weeks.

1 - Best Botton Cloth Diapers I agree with TJ on this one.  Get 3 inserts to really get the feel whether you like them.  I love them for travelling because you can pack 3-5 changes in the diaper bag without taking a lot of room.

Overall the number of changes you have is around 31-34 for NB stage and 30 for the small size before you hit one-size.  That feels pretty good for washing every other day.  (You'll only need 18-24 changes once baby quits poooping so often.)

 

Looks like you have 5 total covers, one of which is an AC. I LOVE my AC, but I don't think they'd fit over bulky fitteds very well.  Maybe a GMD workhorse, but that's about it.  I see you're getting snappis, so you'll probably only need 2-3 covers a day.  But with the AC as one of your covers if you're going to wash EOD day I might get 1-2 more covers.

 

Also don't forget pail liners or large wetbags to store dirty diapes in at home.  2-3 medium wetbags for daycare if you're not SAH, and 1-2 small wetbags for the diaper bag. 

 

You'll also want CD safe diaper cream (I like coconut oil and Earth Mama Angel BAby bottom Balm), and CD safe laundry detergent.
