Ultrasound at 5 weeks 6 days looks weird, Twins?

Here is my US at 5 weeks an 6 days I clearly see a baby on the very bottom, a white rice looking dot, right above I was told was the Yolk sac, so what is the cirlce above the yolk sac? It looks like another Yolk Sac to me ! I have another apt on Monday the 9/16 so I will be asking for another US. I have 5 children my first were twins but they were in seperate sacs. When I asked about the US they said one fetal pole detected, singleton pregnancy. My HCG isnt any higher than a singleton either, I guess im just curious what you ladies think this is and if anyone has had anything similar????

do you have any ideas on what that could be? I have had 2 back to back losses, and got pregnant before I had a cycle, so i guess just seeing something I have never seen before with this being my 5th pregnancy just worries me.

Who knows?  I would trust them until you hear otherwise, you don't have another option.  Until then, your singleton looks great.

Twins will have two yolk sacs, unless they are conjoined.

I know thats why I thought it could be another yolk sac, I was only 5 weeks and 6 days so the other one could have been to hard to see. They would be identical if it were, I would prefer it not to be because this type of twin has high mortality rates!  I have identical twins but they were in seperate sacs.

I thought the same thing with my ultrasound as well, but I looked online and one is the yolk sac the other is your baby:)
I will post my pic for you And this was at 6weeks, I mean you also never know you could still have twins. I had a friend find out she was having twins 3 u/s later at 15weeks... Lol so hey ya never know!

I'm not an OB nor an ultrasound tech, and I'm not trained to read ultrasounds.  If your doctor and/or u/s tech didn't think it was twins, then it's probably not.

I see the yolk sac and baby but the 3rd thing in there is whats throwing me off.

I had an ultrasound similar and she ended up being one baby. For my current pregnancy I am having an ultrasound tomorrow so I am very excited

Good luck at your next ultrasound and hopefully it's more clear

If the u/s tech said a singleton, I would trust that there's only one. She's the expert, we're not.

wow some of you ladies are really rude, pretty unbelievable. its just a question if you want to be rude move on! No wonder I stopped coming to this site !
