What time do you and DH eat dinner? I have seen a lot of posts when people are saying they feed their LO whatever they are having for dinner. DD eats dinner around 6:30pm and is in bed by 7:15pm. We typically do not even start dinner until she goes to bed.
I give DS dinner at 5:30 or 6. Then after he goes to bed we usually have our dinner....but sometimes we eat all together if we time it right. I care more about feeding DS at a certain time than I do about us eating at a certain time.
He has an 8:00 bedtime so we eat around 7:00. That's enough time for dinner, bath, books and nursing. I know some people who feed their LO's last night's dinner so they get to eat what their parents eat, just a day later.
DS eats dinner between 5 and 5:30 and goes to bed around 6:30. DH and I eat after DS is in bed. DS usually eats leftovers of what we had the night before.
We eat around 6-6:30pm and DS goes to bed between 8-8:30pm. Or like pp said if he is getting cranky or hungry I will start feeding him a little earlier. This gives us time to eat, go for a walk, bath, play a little and then nurse before bed.
SO is hell bent on eating between 8-9pm. I.hate.it.
I wish we ate at 6pm, like normal people, when DS does, but it's just too hectic with SO getting home at that time and G going to bed at 7. Usually, we eat around 9. Again, I hate it.
We eat dinner as a family around 6:00-7:00 depending on what time we actually get home from work. We plan our meals out on Sunday so no thought has to go into "what's for dinner" and who ever gets home first starts cooking.
I had been feeding DS dinner around 5, then the rest of us would eat at 6 for both kids to be in bed at 7. But that was when he would nurse before bed and I didn't want him to be too full of food. Now that he's cut that feeding, I am trying to wait to give him dinner until 6 like the rest of us.
When DD was this age, she would eat around 6 and go to bed at 7, and DH & I would eat after she went to bed. But then for awhile her bedtime became 8, and that was too late to start cooking our dinner, so we shifted earlier. I like eating earlier, but it is a rush between DH getting home and getting dinner before the kids' early bedtimes. It's a constant struggle.
ETA: And I should say we aim to eat at 6. Sometimes it is closer to 6:30 and bedtime is really rushed. Or sometimes I make the kids scrambled eggs to eat at 6 because the main dinner isn't going to be done until 7.
Around 7 usually. Too late for DD so sometimes she eats first and H and I have dinner at 7. I wish it were 630 so we could all eat together but I get home at 6 and I just can't seem to get dinner done that fast.
I get home from work at 6:30, and hopefully have something in the crock pot and feed DS immediately. If nothing's in the crock pot, then he eats first, bath, and bed at 8pm, then I work on dinner for us. I don't get to sit down most nights until 9:30ish.
i work 10 AM to 6 PM, so i'm usually not even home until 6:30 or 6:45. we generally eat at around 7:30, DS included. sometimes if he seems hungry earlier, DH will feed him dinner before i get home and eat with him, and i eat by myself when i get home.

SCANDAL!
DH works nights, 3 and 4 days a week, so there are many nights when it's just me and LO at the table.
