Calling BS

So I work with this guy who likes to tell these outrageous stories, most of which I assume are lies. We were telling baby stories because a coworker is PG and the guy said his wife had 2 amniotic sacs at birth since she was PG with twins and lost one early on but the sac kept growing. (He made a point to tell me she was WAY bigger than I was...) This can't happen, right? Wouldn't the sac stop growing?

He also said that he went 44 weeks himself (not possible, right?) and that the doctor who was in the delivery room when his kid was born went into labor during delivery (which I guess could happen, but would she really have been delivering babies when she was that far along?)

My favorite though was when his SIL grabbed a used condom from he and his wife and used it to get herself KU. WTF?!

Re: Calling BS

  • Sounds to me like somebody needs more attention at home.  He's a lying liar who lies.  OR he is an excellent Jerry Springer candidate.  Either way, I'm sorry you have to waste your time around someone like that.  Why do people feel the need to tell lies to get attention?

I did give him a bit of a benefit of the doubt on going 44 weeks, because my guess would be that back then they didn't have as good of dating techniques, and they didn't push induction.  So if mom had a long cycle, and went a week late, I can see that being legit.  But considering the type of person he seems to be, a huge exaggerator at the very best, I wouldn't put much stock in it.

Sometimes I wish there was an "ignore" button for real life.

  • I was originally pg w triplets for my last pregnancy and the extra placenta frim the twins we lost actually hung around until about 20 weeks, which is unusual, before it was absorbed. It didn't grow any bigger though. That doesn't make sense.

  • Wow every part of that I would say is BS. First off foulllllllllllllllllll on the condom one. Who would do that. Vomit!

Two no doctor would be delivering and go into labor. So all that happened at the same time including being 44 weeks. That doctor if she was pregnant would even have morrrrrrre of a reason to take a baby at 41 weeks. Give me a break.

He needs a little help on telling truth from fiction. Life must be that boring.

  • Yeah I've actually caught him in a lie before (didn't call him on it though) so I know he's full of crap. One day...

He told me he had cancer awhile back and I really don't want to know if he lied about that. My mom died from cancer and DH is a survivor, so if I found out he lied about that I don't know if I could resist a throat punch!
