powder formula, packed scoop?

so my dr. told me to use this formula. its enfamil nutramigen. i have never used powder formula just read to use. it says packed scoops. last night i was killing time by packing the heck out of the formula with my thumbs to make sure the formula is packed tightly. then today i spoke to the dr. about this. she said that i was doing it wrong. she said pack it down lightly.  but i just read an article that if you tap the scoop thats packing and if you shake the scoop thats unpacking. wth? im going to call enfamil tomorrow and see what they say, that is if they even have an answer for me. i just want to know what is the right way to pack a scoop. you would think this should be the least of my worries. lol

Let us know what enfamil says if you reach them

We also pack against the side.

It says on the can to make level, but not packed scoops. I scoop it and shake lightly so it's level but I don't pack it.
Too much formula to water ratio can cause constipation. Conversely, too much water vs formula can result in them not getting as much of the nutrients per ounce as they should.
ETA: I should add, that's what it says on our can of formula, which is Enfamil Gentlease.

This is us too but we use Simalac (sp?) Fussiness and Gas.

the gentlease is different  than the formula im using. yours says unpacked scoops mine says packed scoops

We also pack against the side.

thats what i started to do before i read your comment. lol. btw how do you like the formula for the baby?

i called enfamil and they said to use the back of a spoon to pack it down in the scoop like brown sugar, then level it off. then they switched me to a different dept. they wanted my feedback on a product. and i asked that dept and they said to scoop it and push it against the inside of the can. lol
