6 months shots + flu shot?

So DS will be 6mo on september 26. He has his shots on the 24th and I was wondering if I should schedule his flu shot that "soon". My parents think it's ridiculous to have him get it in september, and his nurse says we should wait until he's 9mo... That's December 26. I called his clinic but still no call back.

When are you scheduling your 6-9mo old flu shots?

Where I live they now do the flu shot at the 6 month appointment and a booster 1 month later

DD#2 will get her first flu shot on 10/14 - she will be 7.5 months old and then the booster 1 month later in mid-November. 

 

She could have received it at our 6 month appointment but they said since we delay some shots that it would be ok to give it to her at our 7 month vaccination appointment - which was delayed a bit to coincide with DD#1's 3 year appointment.

we did the flu shot with the rest of his 6 months shots this week and will go back in 1 month to do the booster mid november

It's not that it won't last all flu season- so it's fine to get it early. There is a different version with a different virus every year which is why you have to get it yearly. You may have to get a booster after the very first flu shot.
