Ds started on the hard wood floor putting his palms in front of him and then pulling himself forward. My MIL told me not to let him do that bc he will never crawl???

    What?! Ive never heard of that. There are lots of kids that skip crawling altogether and just walk. Let your kid be himself and dont listen to her. :).

    That's nonsense. My boys both did a strange one sided army crawl before getting up on their hands and knees. I can't imagine trying to stop them from getting to whatever toy they are after. It's pretty cute while it lasts, but it can leave some nasty red marks on their little forearms.

    I take M to baby class and the group leaders are PT/OT in EI.  They said that it doesn't matter how babies get around (scoot, army crawl, backward crawl), as long as they crawl somehow.  One thing they did mention, is that they don't like to see babies who skip crawling altogether.  They said crawling is essential in building upper body strength, and that helps with upper arm fine motor skills later on in life...

    DS mastered the army crawl before he learned to crawl. It didn't affect his crawling at all. He also started walking on his knees before taking his first steps....I'm not too worried about it. If he was still sitting there and not trying to move around at all, then I'd be worried.

    Like all the PPs said, I disagree with your MIL. LO is fine, and he will crawl however he wants and it's ok. E crawled on one knee and one foot.

    MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12
    ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!

    Ugggg... MILs! Don't listen to her! Besides, could you imagine what it would look like in your house if you did actually dedicate yourself to preventing LO from scooting all day? How would you even stop him from doing that? You should say to MIL that she is more than welcome to try to stop him. ;)

    No let them do whatever they do. I did the scoot and went straight to walking after that. My brother did the crawl. Everyone is different. As long as they get around :)

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP
