Someone diagnose me..

So, I'm hesitant to call the dr on this bc I have to find a new one. My current PCP just plain sucks. But I figured you folks could take a stab at this and tell me whether or not you think this warrants a dr appt.

For the past few months, I've had these painful crusty "scabs" in my nose. Almost like really crusty boogers that keep coming back no matter how much I pick them. Gross right? Anywho, within the last month or so, I've also been getting recurrent styes in my left eye, which before this, I've never gotten in my life.

These two things could be completely unrelated, and dr google is telling me I have anything from "a dry nose" to low grade staph infection, to skin cancer, to nasal impetigo.

What say ye parenting? Should I suck it up and find a new doc to make an appt for this? I don't want to look like a nut job and go in just for them to tell me I have a dry nose and I'm unlucky enough to get recurrent styes.

Months? yeah, I would find a new PCP and make an appointment. You need to find a new doctor anyways, so you might as well introduce yourself by showing them your buggers

LOL. That's my initial thought. What an awkward way to start off with a new dr. "Nice to meet ya. Here! Look at my crusty snots!"

We must have the same disease, with these eye issues and nose crusties. I seriously have the same thing going on. I don't want to go to the doctor, so if you go, update me with your diagnosis!

@littledeer84 That's too funny! I mean not actually funny...because TBH the nonstop styes and crusty nose fucking sucks. This shit is painful! But yeah, I need to find a new PCP anyway, so I'll probably end up just sucking it up and making an appt. I'll let you know!

@peanutrach1 that was my next guess. I think I'll try the humidifier by our bed at night for a few days and see if it helps.

Have you tried saline for your nose?

@ghostmonkey I just changed the sheets and pillow cases like 2 weeks ago, I should probably change them again. I just bought new pillows maybe a month or 2 ago, I think?

@mrscodemonkey I have tried saline. It hasn't helped much at all :-(

I used to get styes all the time. Finally went to the eye doctor. He suggested using Johnson's Baby wash on my eyes. Just the plain old kind with the yellow lid. I wash my eyes with it every morning and have not had a sty in months.

@tim+erin I've been scrubbing my lids everyday/night with Johnson's baby wash as well as ocusoft eyelid scrub. These styes just keep coming... ugh!

That's why I'm thinking maybe something is going on. The styes combined with the weird scabs in my nose..yuck.

Definitely get a new doc. There has to be a reason. Good luck!
