I just became a mom last night to a beautiful baby girl! Baby A was born at 30 weeks 3 days after I pPROMed at 28 weeks. I was so blessed to be able to keep her in another 2 weeks I know some mommas' aren't that lucky. She weighted 3LBs 6ounces and was 14.5 inches long. She's on CPAP but breathing room air. I had two rounds of steroids and the mag. Now we begin the long NICU journey. You guys are so nice and supportive and I look forward to being a part of this board!
Thank you so much for all the sweet wishes! I'm hoping for a short NICU stay as well but you never know what will happen. So far I have been struggling with my supply. I'm pretty much pumping and getting nothing. The nurses keep telling me that's to be expected but it's still frustrating to not be able to supply anything. Right now they are giving her donor breast milk. I wasn't sure how I felt about it but they told me that breast milk is easier on her tummy then formula and I just want what's best for her. Hoping the pumping gets easier.

Congrats!!
Just wanted to say I know how frustrating it is to wait for your milk to come in. I pumped around the clock for 3 days before getting a single drop. It took 5 days before I got any volume and 10 days before I caught up with feeds. I BF without supplementing at all today. Keep pumping mama!
welcome! Keep us updated when you can and feel free to ask questions! You might get nothing pumping for a couple more days until your milk comes in. Try hand expressing colostrum, I got more out with my hand than the pump. My LC had me express into a spoon and suck it up into a syringe to take to the NICU. I know the breastmilk motto is every ounce counts, but for us NICU moms, it's every mL counts!!
Congratulations, sounds so much similar to what happened to me! My little guy is 1 week old now and is 3 lbs 5 oz and hopefully on his way up. Also on cpap room air. I also got the steroids and mag at end of 28 weeks and mag a few more times before I had him at 30 weeks. 1 day. I hope and pray both of our little ones will grow strong and healthy.
Congrats on the birth of your LO! I hope that she has a short and uneventful NICU stay. As others have said, it is frustrating when your milk doesn't immediately come in, but keep on and it will hopefully come in. Look forward to hearing how she does! Glad to read that she is doing well!
