Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

potty training

My 19 month old is showing signs of being ready to start potty training... I've been reading some and seems like there is a window between 18-28 months that works well for a lot of kids. So I was thinking about staying home a few days next week and having a go at it. Does anyone have any advice, things that worked well for you or anything like that? Please don't respond to tell me she's too young tho. Thanks!

  • She's too young ;)  You gotta go all or nothing.  Going back and fourth between diapers and undies can be confusing.  Join the Potty team!

  • We are using the Oh Crap Potty Training method, and it's working great! She walks you through step-by-step, has Solutions for all the common problems, and she also has a chapter on training kids younger than 20 months.

It's super slow though. DS was a little older, but agree with PP that you have to be consistent. We used some elements from the Everything Potty Training Book, but mostly just committed ourselves to staying close to home for the first few days.
