Hair Pulling

My DS loves to pull hair. He grabs my pony tail and will not let go. If I am holding him he will also grab the side of my head and grab a fist full of hair. It really hurts but I don't know how to stop this. I tap his hand and tell him "no" and say that hurts but he just laughs. I will also move him or put him down to remove him but he seems to do it all. the. time.  Anyone else have a hair puller? Any way to try to stop this? Thoughts? TIA

Elena used to be really bad especially if she was in a mood. I would take her hand and say gentle and pat my pony tail with her hand then pat her head with her hand. It took a few times, but now she'll pat my pony tail instead of attacking it.

This is what I do.  LO loves to grab hair, I swear it is her favorite thing to do. When she starts to pull it I tell her to be gentle and take her hand and pat my hair softly.  If she gets rough again I take the hair away by standing up or putting her down.  It seems to have worked because she is so much better and gentle with my hair.
