Ugh....yet another month passes by....

I am almost at my witts end.  I just started my cycle again and I am seriously thinking about taking a month off with no meds or IUIs.  We have completed 6 months of Clomid and 4 IUIs and last month we used 5mg of Femara/Letrozole.  Has anyone else ever taken a month or two off from TTC?  I am scared because I am going to be 39 at the ens of January, so I feel like time is slipping by, but I feel like my husband and I are so stressed from all of the TTC stuff.  What do you think?  Should we or shouldn't we??

I have taken two breaks.... I found them helpful.  On my current break over the summer I got pregnant ( later a loss).  I just focused on my breaks on doing fun and relaxing things and being healthy.

I did take a break this summer, and ended up getting PG quite unexpectedly.  I found actively TTC to be very stressful - all of the charting, and waiting, and having to have sex at certain times, etc.  I had to just step away from it for a bit.

I wasn't going to reply to this post, since I'm another "took a break and got pregnant" poster, but I do think it's worth adding: I'm not sure how Femara/Letrozole is metabolized, but (according to my RE) Clomid stays in the system for 6 weeks, so I was still technically affected by the drug during my successful cycle. 

So even if you take a cycle "off," it's not necessarily totally medicine-unaffected.

If you think a cycle off would be good for you guys emotionally, do it. It may turn out to be good physically, too. Time is marching on, which means you should not forget to seize the day for yourselves, either.

(As an aside, I've gotten the "see? you just needed to relax" comment a few times; ironic, since I was totally relaxed about it for two whole years before pursuing treatment at all. The truth is, we don't know why that cycle worked. No one does. I could guess Clomid, or Pre-seed, or Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. Only mother nature knows for sure.)

OHHHHH I have been doing it wrong I should be drinking the Leinenkugels Summer Shandy and not my hubby!!!

LOL, exactly! Let me tell you, though, it is a delicious fertility aid!
