OMG I haven't been on here for a long time, but I hope you guys don't mind including me again!!
Wanted to ask how you would have dealt with this situation.
This weekend my dh and dd went to the mall and stopped inside a store. My dd did NOT want to leave and when I tried taking her hand she would push my hand away an start crying, to the point that she laid on the floor and had a meltdown. First of all, isn't she too young to be doing this? Has anyone experienced this and what would you have done to get your baby out of the store?
Well here's what I did, I picked her up and walked my screaming baby out of the store and then distracted her with a YouTube video on my phone. Was that wrong to do?
As I walked out my dh heard a lady say I was abusing my child and my husband said , "excuse me?!!!" She replied, "you should just let her stay" .... Now I've been beating myself up about it because idk if I did the right thing.., I know for a fact I wasn't abusing her, but maybe I could have done it differently. I def didn't want to stay in that store until she was ready to leave either... I feel like the more I do that, the more she will get used to getting what she wants. What do you guys think?

Would also add... Good for your H for sticking up for you. He's a good man!
I just wanted to add that the other day I saw a little boy (probably older than our kiddos, maybe 2, 2.5?) doing the exact same thing because he didn't want to leave Toys R Us. He was having a tantrum, laid out on the floor screaming in the middle of the exit area. His mom was just standing there (her hands were full of bags, poor thing), repeatedly telling him to get up, its time to leave and he was going ballistic. Now normally, I would have judged that mom for letting her kid behave that way, but now I actually respected her for letting him have a tantrum and not giving in. It takes balls to let your kid have a public tantrum and not do whatever he/she wants just to shut him up!
Oh, how motherhood changes us...
