Pregnancy Check In

How far along and how's everything going? Looking forward to reading updates!

I have forgotten to put a QOTD the last couple weeks, but the TTC has a good one this week that I thought I would steal. :)

QOTD: What has been your craziest pregnancy dream so far?

Re: Pregnancy Check In

  • I'm 29 weeks, 4 days. So crazy that beginning on Thursday, I'll be in a week beginning with a '3'. Physically, I'm doing well. I had a doctor's appointment last Thursday. The blood work and glucose test all came back with good numbers, so yay! I'm having trouble sleeping in on the weekends, which is no fun, but otherwise I'm feeling good. I'm continuing with prenatal yoga, which I really love.

We start our child birth course tomorrow night. It's a Birthing From Within course. I started to read a hypnobirthing book and another book about natural child birth this past week. It's so strange. I feel very strongly that I would like to have a natural birth and feel confident in my body's capability to achieve a natural birth, but I notice that my heart starts racing when I read those books. I didn't think that preparing for child birth would make me anxious - so, now, that's making me nervous. If I'm anxious reading about how to achieve a natural child birth, am I going to feel anxious during labor? Sigh. Hoping this course and my doula can help ease my anxiety. Any words of advice?

In other news, we had our first baby shower yesterday. It was lovely. Everyone was assigned a letter of the alphabet and was asked to design a t-shirt (a child's size) with that letter. They are taking the t-shirt pieces to a quilter to make into a quilt. Can't wait to see it! It was a bit overwhelming to come home and try to organize everything because we don't yet have designated places for bottles, pacifiers, etc., but we have another 10 weeks to get there!

QOTD: I had a crazy dream a couple of weeks ago. I dreamed that we were trying to get pregnant again. So, naturally, we took the sperm (which looked like ashes) and mixed it with an egg (a chicken's egg, that is) and put it into another egg (a plastic Easter egg, of course). We filled two or three eggs, then hid them in a "safe" place. So strange. There have been a lot of posts on this board about IVF lately, so I wonder if reading those entered my subconscious and led to that crazy dream...

Hope everyone has a good day!

  • I am 7.5 weeks pregnant and exhausted lol I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open at work and it is only 10:45am. Today is my last day nannying for my two little guys.I wasn't able to commit to a full school year because baby will arrive in April so their new nanny begins Wednesday.I am looking forward to some time off to focus on my rainbow baby and relax a bit before I'm on mommy duty 27/4.

QOTD I had a dream that I gave birth to the baby in the car on the way to my aunts house and I was so upset because I forgot what I named her. I also insisted we went to the hospital because I needed to know how much the baby weighed...

  • @ATXMommas, I was nervous before childbirth too and we wanted an at-home natural birth with the midwife. We also went to a natural positive birth class, and I read some of the books you have though I didn't practice Hypno-birthing. One of the things that helped me the most was really know and understanding the stages of labor. I felt like I was more in tune with my body as is geared up through the different stages of contractions, and I was ready to "let go" that much more. Labor is hard, it hurts, but it is so amazing. You can do it, your body knows how and it will just do it. Afterward lying watching Kaden get cleaned up right next to be I stated how I couldn't wait to do it again, and that is so true (though I'm still nervous :-)

Feeling pretty good, one and off nausea which I think might be helped by taking B6. I was taking B6 while TTC and just kept taking it and learned it helps MS? Here's to hoping at least. I can't wait for my first u/s though I don't know when that might be. I think I will feel a lot more "pregnant" once I get to see our little mini-nugget as we've been calling him/her.

I gained about 100lbs last pregnancy and still have about 1/2 that weight lingering around. I am nervous about gaining too much this time too. EV suggested that I track my food but I've been to tired/sick to want to. But now I think it might be a good idea, that and keeping up with my daily 45 minute walks. I am so hungry lately but I feel so terrible that eating healthy has been more of a struggle, so I think I'll try and track my food to at least feel like I am being conscious of what I'm consuming.

QOTD: I've had some weird dreams but I don't think I've had a pregnancy dream yet... With Kaden I had a few. One where I was carrying him around and I kept putting him down in random places and then remembering that I couldn't "lose" the baby that I had to take him with me.
  • Hello all, I am right along with ATXMommas at 29 weeks. We take our last out of town trip this weekend to Minnesota to see my family. I am feeling okay pregnancy wise, at the end of a long shift I have started having some Braxton Hicks along with swelling. It is just another sign that I am doing the right thing by switching to 8 hour shifts for October and November instead of 12. I have started obsessing over the birth a little as well... But unlike @ATXmommas and @herbabymama I have not even started or signed up for a birthing class. Yikes! I have some planning to do since I will be full term in 8 weeks.

Still pregnant here, so the doc wasn't completely on target and im thankful to have as mich time as possible. Pushing on 38 weeks here and in actually feeling much better, sleeping much better than a week or two ago, so no complaints here. I did actually spend the evening in l&d last night checking to see if my water had broken. Turns out it wasn't but based on what was happening, I'm not embarrassed that we want especially considering my progress. It was nice to also have some nurses also tell me my labor will progress well when it happens because of my dilation and effacement. Anyway, things are good and we're just waiting for a bday.

I've honesty had very few pregnancy related dreams and none of them were super weird. This is strange because I usually have really vivid dreams.

  • I'm trucking right along, 25 weeks and go to doctor on Thursday. I feel him move all day, every day and I can tell he's bigger as I feel him move on the sides now, at the same time. I've started buying diapers and wipes so I can start stockpiling. I don't have any issues other than a bump that really makes it so I can't sleep on my stomach. I love that I feel him so much!!

I had a dream that my bean was born and he had a mullet!! It was hilarious and I immediately thought well I'm going to have to get that taken care of! No one else that was in the room thought it was strange... I was waiting for him to say "yo dude!!". Lol!

@YBNormal85 - I remember first tri exhaustion - it's tough. Hang in there!

@Jazibel - Thank you for the words of encouragement. Do you have your birth story written down? If you do and you are up for sharing it, I would love to read it. I too struggled with eating healthy foods during my first trimester, and I'm normally a very healthy eater. I had a craving for Sonics tater tots that came out of nowhere!

@mwagner25 - Bless your heart working 12 hour shifts! I'm getting to the point that I'm getting uncomfortable if I'm on my feet too long (also uncomfortable sitting at my desk 8 hours - ha!), so I can only imagine. Hopefully October will come soon for you. :)

@songbird31 - Glad you are feeling okay and sleeping well. How reassuring to have the medical professionals telling you that your labor will progress well.

@Greysmom13 - Baby movements are the best! I was meeting with my boss today and my little guy was moving so much that I was getting distracted. And, your dream is so funny!

@kristi&p - Hoping for some good numbers tomorrow. Keep us posted if you feel like it. :)

    @herbabymamma - Where you at today??? :)
