In Labor!

Hey Ladies...

Here I sit in L and D, contractions 3-5 min apart, epidural all set and just waiting to meet my girl. We made it to 36 weeks and 5 days. Hoping for a healthy baby and easy delivery! I'll post a pic when she arrives

Summer Elizabeth came this morning at 10:21 am. She weighed 5lbs,11oz and is 19 inches long. She needed some help breathing and is currently in the nursery. She may be transferred to a higher care unit if she needs more assistance, as this is only a level one nursery. We're not sure yet but she started needing 100% oxygen assistance and is now down to 36%. She tested at 84 for her blood sugar, so she was unaffected by my gestational diabetes. The only other things she is receiving are a bit of sugar water and some antibiotics. And we're waiting for the results of her blood labs. Labor was about 15 hours from start to finish, with only 50 minutes of pushing and two 1st degree tears.

She's off oxygen and just getting fluids and antibiotics as a precaution until her labs come back. The doctors expect her home on Sunday at the latest.

She is absolutely gorgeous!!  You should be so proud to make it so long and do so well during your labor.  What a beautiful little peanut, what a blessing!  Congrats!
