Future thinking...

My gf and I have been discussing our future family plans. We both want our biological kids...1 using her eggs, and 1 using mine, with the same donor. However, I'm hesitant to go to a sperm bank as I would like for my kids not to have an unknown number of essentially, half siblings. My perfect scenario would be that we would obtain sperm from a man who did not want to have his own biological kids. For example, maybe a man who is in a homosexual relationship and they want to adopt rather than have do a surrogate. So my question is, is my vision too far fetched? Is it going to be impossible to bring my plan to fruition? Thank you in advance for any response

There isn't much that is far fetched when it comes to assisted reproduction. But your request is very specific and unique so it may be a little more difficult to make it happen. Obviously scientifically, it's completely possible if you can find the willing participants. But that is going to be the difficult part, although I don't think it's impossible.

Hey there AMH, I hang out here (I used donor egg and sperm) and on the LGBT board too. There are a couple sperm banks that have a low # of sibling limits out there - like under 10. That may sound like a lot, but a lot less than the 30-50 some do. The Sperm Bank of California is one, and there is also a sperm bank in San Francisco geared toward gay men who want to donate, but I believe it is open so you'd know who he was, etc. I had friends who used that one and were very happy, and did a 'fresh' donation for their second kid, not using the bank at all to save $.
