Who wants to AW their nursery progress (or inspiration if there's not much progress)? I'm bored and I love seeing the nurseries!!

I love seeing nurseries too!!! I'll be working on ours starting next week when we're moved into the new house can't wait to post the progress -- definitely the most fun part of being pregnant so far for me has been nursery and shopping and how he makes me laugh when he kicks me at the most perfect moments !!

This is ours so far. We're keeping it gender neutral. We only have one extra bedroom and will probably be here for ~5 years, so if we're lucky enough to have two LOs, they'll have to share. I'm doing an Eric carle/hungry caterpillar theme. It's no where near done, but it's starting to come together

I am ordering things slowly but waiting to have all my big items before putting anything together. So for now i have made a mood board for what my plans are. My mom will be making a quilt and a valance for the window.

So I don't have anything done just yet. I did finally decide on a theme. In a huge nerd and decided on a Lord of the Rings themed nursery. There is NOTHING on the Internet specifically for a nursery so I'm having to be creative and think outside the box. It's going to be very subtle and not over the top at all.


This is the color scheme of the nursery. Very LOTR-style. One wall will be painted brown and another wall will have decal trees (the ones mindybadger posted).


I want a Middle Earth map on the wall. I also found fabric online with the map and I'm hoping to have my grandma make it into the baby's blanket. Ill just have to find some dark green or brown sheets to match.


Here is some more wall art I would love to incorporate.

I'm just not one of those people who wants to have the same kind of nursery as everyone else, with bedding from a place like BRU or target. I'm putting my heart and soul into this nursery and it just makes it mean that much more

Here is everything but the coordinating dresser (because it's covered in crap currently) I'm also bumping from the glider because it's comfy as hell.

Here's ours so far. The paint is a little more blur in real life (I wish it was more grey). It is slowly coming together. Its such an odd shaped room!

ETA: we aren't going for a "theme" per say. Just wanted more neutral walls/furniture with bright accents everywhere else.

Crib is DaVinci Rivington (found at www.meijer.com, was hard to find because it has been discontinued, got it about 2 months ago).

Dresser is Childcraft from Target (we love it, but it was a total pain to put together)!

I love your nursery! So cute!! Where did you get your furniture? What bedding did you get? And what type of glider is that? It looks so comfortable!!

@BMReid yeah it was tough convincing my husband, but I of course won that battle. It will be very subtle and unless you're a die hard fan like me you won't even know its LOTR. Ill post pictures when it's all finished!

I love the outer space idea, I think that could turn out really cool.

I wish I could say I had ANYTHING done in the nursery, but it is still a craft room. Ugghh, we have so much to do. And, as soon as DH is back from his TDY, the fun will begin. 

Anyhow - this is kind of what we're doing. At least the gray and white chevron and the blue.

My DH and I are doing a similar theme! We're doing the Hobbit/LOTR!! I agree, it is extremely difficult to find anything, but I think we're going to get some wall decals (or I'll paint), like this:

And I think I'm going to paint mountains on one wall, and add some pictures including a map of middle earth. We found a dragon shaped humidifier at target too! Good luck on the nursery!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

How crazy! I was convinced I was the only person on the planet after finding NOTHING! We will have to exchange finished photos!

I will probably have dark green leaves instead. Seems to fit the theme! Unfortunately we are renting a duplex the next year or so, so I can't really go overboard on painting. I also love the quote "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future". Might get that turned into a wall decal or a painting. But your ideas are awesome and I can't wait to see them!

Our crib and dresser are a slate grey...my in-laws ordered it about a month ago but it is supposed to take 3-4 months!  I'm so impatient I can't wait for it to get here!

My mom ordered a custom glider and ottoman that is also slate grey.  It was ordered 2 weeks ago but takes 2-3 months!!

This is what we found when we ripped up the carpet in the nursery. (Mold on subfloor!!!) So we have a lot of work to do! Already bleached it twice and painted with KILZ. Also attached the bedding I plan of ordering from Restoration Hardware. Plan on doing below a chair rail in RH "cloud" blue and above the chair rail in a very light linen color. Our furniture is all Cafe Kids Devon from Costco. Such nice quality and less expensive!

The crib set is identical to Sorelle's Verona line at BRU, but we found it at BBB and it was a little cheaper (I just can't find the name). Bedd;0ing is from BRU it's Lambs & Ivy's Echo set. The glider is from Walmart, its Stork Craft Malibu. I could sit in that thing until the cows come home.. My only gripe about it is that the arms are too wide so I can't drag it out into the living room and sit in it lol.

And I found this adorable lamp that I'm either going to spray paint aqua and get a gray chevron shade for, or get an aqua shade and just leave the owl as is.

Here's ours so far. Just put up Gavin's name today, the crib is pulled forward because we are in the decal process.

where is the glider and ottoman from?  I wanted one in grey but couldn't find it.

There's actually a lot more done on this since my mom and I spent three hours painting murals today, but they aren't finished yet, so no pics really.  Here is the general color scheme for the room.

Here is one of twelve owls around the room.  We were mostly working on these today.

Tree in the corner opposite the door.  Has owls and birds/butterflies in it now.  The glider will go here.

 

Mural over the crib.  Will eventually include baby's name.  I took this one with an ipod, so the colors came out funky.  The orange and blue are really pastel. Not sure why they look scary dark.

Most of our time has been spent on getting DS moved to his new room so that we can work on the nursery.

The bottom right was what the room looked like when we moved in and it still looked like that in May. The top picture is DS in his room (which by the way is in major need of toddler friendly storage solutions) and the airplane is something I just put up this weekend.

@BMReid - I ordered it from Land of Nod, which is part of Crate and Barrel I believe.  I think they might be on sale right now.

We haven't started yet we are donating the current furniture that is in the nursery and the donation office is coming to get it at the end of this month. After that, we will start. (I'm posting these pictures from mobile so excuse the messiness)

I would like to do a two-toned room with a chair rail. Blue on top, tan on the bottom.

I'm basically badgering DH into a "night-time/star" theme. I want this decal over the crib.

We also registered for these crib sheets in blue.
