winter jacket

hi ladies

i would really really appreciate some input!  i can't decide if i should get my daughter just a winter jacket, or one of those snowsuit things (winter jacket with the snow pants).  she'll be a year and a half during the winter season, walking, curious about everything, blah blah.  as you ladies know, we don't always get snow, so i'd hate to spend the $ on a snowsuit that will be outgrown by the following winter, KWIM? but ... i'd like to have have it in case it does snow, and she'll definitely be wanting to find out what's going on outside. 

any suggestion??!!
